I know, but I also remember reading a thread where Pchan went on about how +2s are super easy and anyone who's working on an empyrean should have them because of the disproportionate time, blah blah blah double frenchy standards.

Yeah, my mind was blown...

First he accused me of being jealous because I could never get Usukane and was happy now I finally have a chance to be good thanks to Abyssea.

So I posted a picture of me in full Usukane @ 80... (I've had it since 2008...)

Then he accused me of being mad my Usukane got outdated, and quitting the game over Abyssea - which never happened. Only time I "quit the game" was in mid-2009... I wound up coming back when the 99 cap and Abyssea was announced. The fact that it came from Pchan was even funnier.

Either that, or I got Black Belt, did Divine Might, got 5/5 Tantra +2, Camped Valkurm Emperor (AND GOT THE DROP!), did a whole ton of sea mobs/NMs, finished CoP missions and got Rajas, got Atheling and bought an Amemet Mantle +1, killed Shinryu, did a whole ton of guild point stuff, killed a ton of other NMs (AND GOT THE DROP!) - and got a Fortune Egg - even though the Easter event was over.

I'll let you figure that one out.

You know, thinking about it? I'll never understand the ego on people that prevents them from saying "You know, you got me. I've got egg on myself and I sure looked dumb, huh? My bad!" or something similar. Is it that hard to admit you were wrong? Especially when, in light of evidence of something like the server merge being overlooked, there really IS no comeback or defense?

Ah ok, so because the great Francisco didn't have it it means it should not be considered. LOL. The item exists because there has been a demand from the playerbase for hard fights and hard goals. We don't care if it hurts you little ego that you can't get it, but some people set their goals high, and that's how they keep playing and having fun.

Verethragna is only obtained in march of this year as well as the +2 gear that was out by september. It says enough on what kind of player you are since you say you did not quit. How come you only got that gear that late ? I mean, it's fine to laugh at the monk that were crying because their full usu was (supposedely "was") no longer the best, but at least put it in practice...

This has to be trolling, this is too easy.

1) Pchan swore by Usukane forever and a day and never had Hachiryu either, but it is criminal for one person to justify not having a PW drop for MNK if they aren't Pchan.

2) This is coming from someone who was working on their Vereth while wearing Furor Cesti, DESPITE there being Taipan Fangs +1 in that Usukane screenshot.

3) This is coming from someone who also doesn't have Spharai.

4) THIS IS COMING FROM SOMEONE WHO DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER RETURNING TO THE GAME UNTIL +2 AND EMPYREAN WEAPONS WERE ALREADY COMMON. Beyond that, this is also coming from someone who only even HAS one because the level 90 bloat made it possible to trio your way to a level ninety weapon.

But this is Pchan, you see, so all of the conventions that should apply to everyone else don't apply to that account. If you do it, it's gimp. If Pchan did it, well, there was a very good reason and now I will be condescending to you while ignoring any and all valid points.

Edit: Just caught the stealth-defense of full Usukane in that last statement, too...

I collected full iga +2/eponas/accessories(not earring eww)/rajas/etc before getting Kannagi O_o Emp weapons feel like the "final step" for gearing a job. Might just be me though.

I'm curious why Rajas Ring is on the list, but enh. Just observing.

The twist is that an Empyrean weapon in and of itself is a huge DPS increase. It's just easy to look at someone in full perle (or Usukane) and go "Poor ____! You shouldn't be on that shittily geared person!" While the weapon is typically the most bang for your buck, it is sort of ingrained to not want to see it on someone who doesn't have a bunch of blue boxes or the like.

Rajas is the biggest reason to do COP by quite a long way, and a lot of people won't have any other reason to do the missions. If you never bothered with them before or started recently you'd have to do the entire storyline for the one ring, so it's a pretty big effort.

I was actually going to draw myself a signature a couple of days before I saw that topic. When I saw it my heart sank and I decided it'd be best to just leave everything blank. :< Maybe when the hype has calmed down I'll make my own.

Both my Avatar and Sig were done by Eiffel. He's in my LS and does a fuck ton of commissions for people. My avatar was actually a whole picture that said "Summoner Burn" when I introduced my LS to summoner burns and how awesome the Exp was. My sig was a commissioned gift from a friend when I nearly died in Feb of 2010.

I think the whole "having emp weapon after all else is finished" stems back to when people would have relics before having perfect gear other wise and people that would sell good gear to be able to fund their relic.

Back then, it was viewed as bad for the amount of time it took to get a relic but now, it takes at most a week to get an empy and having one is going to be better than having maxed out TP set, which even then, can prob get all you need in 2-3 days after fishing the empy.

Yeah, that's why I reasoned it away as a holdover from days gone by. Even knowing that the idea is sound, it still seems wrong I guess. Even knowing that Atma can temporarily replace holes in someone's gear and that ODD > mostly everything, I still burn inside when I see an Almace on a BLU wearing an AF body or perle Ukons and the like.
