It's like these people have never seen a good BLM Ja, a WAR 2hr + Cleave, or a BLU charged whisker.

Single most impressive post I have ever read:

She has to be trolling. There's just no way.
My post in your defense just cost you 500 alex, my dbox is open
Mine costs more attention in Rudra's thread.
No Alex for you!
Also, I don't like the direction the Rudra's thread is going. >:/ It's pretty obvious there are any number of ways to make the weaponskill more useful, but it has a place in our arsenal as it is and SE isn't likely to change it. I made most of the suggestions in that thread several months ago in another thread, and I saw the Climactic Flourish patch as their way of addressing it. Toss in some petty arguing about how Ironclad Smiter only takes an extra 50% damage (bullshit, lulz), and you have a thread that's going downhill.
Just... Rosina's post was . . . I don't understand . . . . She's either trolling or she didn't read my post/make any attempt to understand what was being said/is a not-so-secret retard.
But she did ballet in RL, clearly she knows what she's talking about.
It's hard to get a good idea of how much damage Merton will actually do, since you can't actually see what buffs the SCH has up. I have a few Abyssea Cryohelix screenshots of about 950 (MM/Beyond/Ultimate, Varuna +2, Novio out on loan, Hailstorm, neutral day), which was doing between 1/3 and 1/2 of a Grauberg crab's HP using Ebullience. The video SCH isn't using Ebullience, has the Empyrean staff, full Empyrean (is it NQ/+1/+2?) instead of appropriate damage gear, and unknown atmas.
I find it hard to be excited about Merton. The most unfortunate part is that it is dark elemental, forcing us to use Compression or Gravitation skill chains if we wish to magic burst it... and that requires using Impact to close to get any real damage out of the skill chain. People seem to be genuinely excited that it is dark magic so that it can be paired with Manifestation.
Of course, none of this changes the fact that Odin is lame. Odin has always been lame in just about every single FF.
I'm convinced people who main pet jobs (BST, SMN, PUP) exist for no purpose now except to bitch endlessly about everything added to the game until they get to solo every NM, -100% PDT for pets, bottomless MP automatons, MP free avatars, spirits that spam T5 and -ja spells and an endless supply of pet food/pet jugs.
They flipped out over SE having the audacity to correct the error in having their pets be effectively invincible... Something that was obviously not working as intended. That'd be on the same level as if WHMs got upset over SE fixing the "Cure does 99999 damage to undead" bug.
She isn't a troll. I think people write off some of the posters on official forums as trolls way too often. To be a troll you need foresight and that's asking alot.
Is it surprising really? There are plenty of XI players that don't frequent forums and have a limited view of their fellow players. Within the narrow scope of their experiences in the game, things that aren't worth mentioning suddenly become accomplishments to shoot off the lip when someone begins a debate but little do they know all this does is make them appear even more foolish.
Wanna know about this time I soloed Aquarius? Man, It was epic.
As much as the SMN debates get annoying, pet jobs are the classes that should be QQing the hardest given their second-class citizen status within the confines of SEs game.Originally Posted by Francisco

Flagellation at its best.
The Samba nerf was pretty "eh why?" though any level-headed individual would see why Ducal Guard got its fix.
man what does that guy do all day
like, i was actually sad to see him (say he) quit because having as engaging a time-sink as FFXI is a pretty solid way to keep a guy like that from hurting himself
edit: starcade, rather
I still really don't understand this. I was having a blast xping on BST/DNC and was all, "Oh hey, my pets can absorb HP too! That's kind of cool." and then SE patched it like it mattered at all. The only thing I can think of is that the same code that allowed sambas to be active for pets was super exploitable in some other way.
I made the mistake of going onto the RDM forums.
I see it hasn't improved and we just have umpteen "I wanna hit things with mah lazer swordz" threads.
Why would that ever change? It's a universal constant like death and taxes.
Yes, He was thunder-banned because of him spewing his fucking crazy all over the official forums like a deranged tinfoil-hat wearing bat-shit nutcase.
