ya I mentioned it earlier.
I have only two real beefs with the salvage bans.
1. the length it took them to handle it and/or post a warning about it meaning people thought it was another windower thing (which was stupid to think in the first place, but w/e)
2. the inconsistency of the bans. I know tons who used to flee hack and got temped banned for it back in the day. Then either only got tempted banned or not touched at all (but admitted to doing it) during the duping. And I know people who never did anything (or at least never got caught) who got perma'd for duping.
Am I the only one that reads his name as "Analhelm"? Probably eh?
SE doesn't ban people just because, because they really like money but me asking:

Our main DD/Tank in Salvage almost got off with nothing, except that we did a NI60 for his Askar hands, tripled it, and he was alliance leader for that run. Otherwise I was always alliance lead on RDM. Our second DD/Tank did get off with nothing, because he was always main-party again. Our support jobs, thieves, etc. typically took the outside parties.
Overall, I can't make myself give a shit about the Salvage bans. They knocked me down about 150mil+gear with it and gave me a break from the game. Months later, they dramatically increased the Salvage drop rate. Want Macha's Slops? I've gotten three pairs in the last month of Salvage. Want Deimos Cuisses? Four pairs. TH? Not on any of the drops. We spammed SSR for three months and saw one Usu body and one Usu head as our only drops while tripling. Not that anyone would even care at this point, because they invalidated all the gear. I'm saving it all on my porter moogle so I can tatter it when the time comes.
The worst part of the whole Salvage bans fiasco is that it destroyed the linkshell I was in, which was a pretty cool shell overall, and eliminated all of my ToAU progress (so now I'm still grinding Ampuoles despite having done over 30 Odins).
I don't think so in somewhat my case. I was in a salvage group but quit before people even knew about the bans. Every last one in my group got perma'd 'cause I guess they did it (thank god I quit before, I'm dizty I admit it and may not have known how to handle it if I were in the group and they wanted to do it), and while I wouldn't be surprised if they did the tripling thing, I highly highly doubt every last one of them had lead at some point. Especially since one of them was an actual LS leader, so he was usually in charge.
It was so long ago though so hard to pinpoint it anymore (nor I guess does it matter, just mentioning it. XD)
aww korpg wants me gone. So sad.

Byrth, I was sort of surprised at his whole "You shouldn't move servers to buy Alexandrite." It's not like you're going to spend 90m on stones, come back and then sell them, you're doing it finish your weapon because it isn't desirable to do so on your current server. His whole logic of "It should only be used by people who are joining friends or are unhappy with their server" is also amusing, since you are technically doing both if you round-trip in three months. You're unhappy with the progress capable on your home server, and then you're joining your friends on the return trip.
God forbid you give SE money to do what they expect you to do.
Yeah, I figured you weren't trying to just get a strangle on the market but that's what he kept going to, like this was an exploit for gil and not a desire to finish a weapon with bullshit requirements that got inflated by monitoring skewed salvage output via duplication. Sigh.
I'll never understand people who consider themselves Lawful Good. They all seem one bad day away from Starcade's zealot-like methodology.
The sad thing is that you can be Lawful Good and not come off as a total douchebag.
Nice to see Shiyo is starting to post where she belongs. lol
Shiyo:
Before colibri, I hasted, refreshed, cured, debuffed, MBed and CCed mobs. I'm pretty sure this is what they want RDM to be, it was so fun back then
I was the ultimate support mage, yes a brd had better buffs but they weren't a "mage". Give me better buffs and superior cures to a /whm to bring RDM back into the playing field. Haste2 , bravery, faith, temper party castable plz.
I've never been a melee RDM, and never will be. I play the job right, meleeing is NOT right. Wanna be a melee RDM? Play NIN, blu, or dnc.
The only reason that this makes me laugh is because she never had RDM at 75 and only now has RDM because she abyssea burned it. Just dont get why she acts like shes been a RDM forever. At 75, she was all pro SCH and how RDM, WHM, BLM where horrible jobs compared to SCH.
You can tell the official forums is all casuals cause the rdm's still think abyssea is and forever will be the be all end all end game.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/th...641#post177641I've been gone a couple months and now that I have some time to play again, I can't stay on very long. If it's because I have to update my payment to Clickandbuy, then no thanks. I wish you all the best of luck.
Enjoy.
Time for me to join the party
