headdeskingNinjutsu Status Curing Spell
Here's an idea I had for a Ninjutsu spell that would allow Ninjas to cure themselves (and only themselves) of certain negative status effects using Far Eastern acupuncture techniques:
Kyukaku: Ichi (Nin lvl 65, Fire Based spell, self target only)
Uses the Ninja Tool Shinchū Kappu (Goldsmithing), removes one status ailment (can remove Blindness, Poison, Plague, Virus, Paralysis, Max MP down, Max HP down, Amnesia, Stat-down effects or black magic spells like Burn, Shock and Drown, has a slight chance of removing Doom effect). Grants a Regen effect which enhances in potency and duration with every Status ailment cured through Kyukaku (up to 3 times).
Kyukaku: Ni (Nin lvl 93, Fire Based spell, self target only)
Uses the Ninja Tool Shinchū Kappu, cures two status ailments (same as Ichi version). Grants a Regen effect (larger HP/tick return, stacks with Ichi version, enhances in potency and duration as per Ichi version).
Ohfuck...
You don't sub /NIN in Voidwatch because everything triple attacks, constantly casts spells, and has ridiculous evasion. If you have a BRD or a RDM, your WHM have nearly the same MP regeneration as abyssea and they will rarely even use CureVI so to say in any content (since the previous limiting factor was above 75 content) that /NIN sub benefits more is fairly silly.
It's good for yellow procs if you don't want to sub /NIN on your WHM, not much else. If you can't tank it /WAR, /NIN (nowadays) isn't going to allow you to tank it either.
I don't see how you gleaned that when I said you don't sub /NIN in Voidwatch, not you don't MNK in Voidwatch.
These last two pages are giving me a headache...
I play one job, and it's MNK.
1: At 75, I took WAR to Dynamis, Salvage, Einherjar... and was fine. I frequently tanked in these battles through Counterstance.
2: In Abyssea, I've tanked just about every NM on MNK/WAR, and again was fine. Counterstance damage mitigation, PDT and MDT sets when needed was a big part of that - although I would have been okay without them. I think the only NMs I liked /NIN on were Rani, Raja and Alfard (back tanking, Serpentine Tail).
3: Voidwatch, I usually co-tank with a PLD. I haven't done much yet - but the turtle, vampire and antlion can be pretty rough. I always go /NIN to these. Somehow, I also serve as the main damage dealer while subbing NIN as well. (For the record I'm on T3 Bastok, T4 Windurst, and have yet to start Sandy)
- Counterstance/HP/evasion/WHM let's you tank 95% of the stuff in this game while /WAR.
- /NIN allows you to stay alive on the ~5% with very high DPS/evasion and dangerous TP moves. Staying alive allows you to continue to deal damage.
It was i regards to /NIN And Shadows over /WAR.
I know the statement was wide but the context of my statement is there on that page. I admit could have made it less vague, that was an oversight, But my intent was to express just because /WAR lacks utsusemi, Doesn't mean it isn't a tank. I hope that makes it a bit more clear. I wasn't arguing MNK has no defensive abilities, I apologize for the confusion DeRock.
Ive been told i have a nasty habit of assuming people can put 2 and 2 together. I'll stop doing that for you as it appears to be too difficult
No hard feelings.
So the test server made me finally get an official forums name/account...oh boy
this is the only person to post with experience of tanking on monk , and wow it confirms what i have been saying. * the only time 75 cap i didnt sub war in dyna was when i didnt feel like burning rr/food since EES damn near 100% kills you with counter-stance up also there condemnation, quadrastrike , that fucking fomor tp move thats single hit and a few other tp moves that generally weren't worth the 5mins of down time for me to /war on*.
You're right Gokku, no one else has tanked on MNK, like ever. What a lol statement.
There's also anything you're blue/yellow procing and need to turn on. Itza and Turul also suck but at the same time all of those can be done /WAR, well, especially Raja because Raja takes your subjob 90% of the fight, no real reason not to sub WAR there.2: In Abyssea, I've tanked just about every NM on MNK/WAR, and again was fine. I can't see how you keep shadows up against Vampire/Turtle - they are the same as the Crab which is basically TA->Ga spell->TA->Ga Spell->TA->Mega Scissors/Venom Shower->TA->Ga Spell. Antlion is pretty easy /WAR, but I nearly fulltime PDT and never CS under 50%. I don't doubt it being possible by any means, I just doubt its effectiveness vs other options. I also parse shit accuracy without sushi/pizza since dispelga from everything negates aggressor/focus.3: Voidwatch, I usually co-tank with a PLD. windy path are the only ones i haven't tanked , crab wasn't that bad with shadows, though scissors is infuriating. wand nm / behemoth arent bad at all /nin the behemoths acc is laughable your more likely to kill yourself by turning to slow and getting cursed. T1;s for bastok the KKK mob /nin helps not being slowed 24/7 and not getting your shit packed in when you have to back tank it. worm its not needed , tonberry crits like a semi truck if he hits you and so does his tp moves. lastly the last thing you want to be doing is feeding the malboro more tp by letting it beat on you better off just letting it wiff / hit shadows so you can keep the TP moves down to a stunable rate.
thats my personal experience with tanking / killing all t1-3 of bastok / sandy paths *bastoks more fresh since ive done it 3 times in the last 2 months to catch people in ls up*. in almost all situations were i am tanking on monk it is low man, 5-7 if we are lucky so job options are limited to something like , 1mnk 1nin 1blm 1whm 1brd and from there any added jobs go to random things to proc with.
is vamp insta cast if not id plan on taking 2 stunners on rotation of ga's only. ive been on war for the mandy and honestly it looks like a fight ill just have to tank on pld the thing tore my war apart without a fantics up.
He'll resist your stuns very quickly.

Just a minor facepalm moment, nothing major at all
I counter your silliness with this post that outlines how relics are inherently evil and thus don't deserve buffs: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/th...l=1#post182754

Ksandra, will you marry me?
This isn't an official forum fail (well maybe on myself), but I'm just going to make sure I'm not making an ass of myself (even though I've already posted.
I am correct here right, or in my tiredness am I making an ass of myself?Originally Posted by TacoTaru
