This thread gets better and better. It drives me nuts to see extremely valid points, like Chocobits' post about why leeching is suddenly okay at 75, and Neisan's post about unarguable truths regarding SE knowing that 30s can enter Abyssea and prosper there.

These posts get completely and utterly ignored and the part that really got me today was

-Nei's post with valid points to rebuttal Akuthera's stance of "no one has any good points"

-Someone saying that mature debate ended on this idea weeks ago, and this is a long-beaten argument with no point

-Panthera quoting Akujima saying it's impossible to debate with anyone here, and him then agreeing that there's no good debate to be had.

The damnable part of it is that he allegedly yields that there are good points in the mix but he has outright refused to comment on them. Like, completely denied them when they were discussed in favor of standing on the soapbox, then later tries to continue the masquerade of being a fair and balanced and open by referencing "Yeah, that guy had a point about exp scrolls."

That's a perfect display of acting like a child in a discussion. I hate it when people proclaim something doesn't exist while they continue to completely ignore everything outside of their narrow viewpoint.

To the other side's credit, I think saying that there's no one with whom to have a mature discussion--as an absolute, is exaggerating, my friend. If you feel someone has something new and worthwhile to reply to, don't let trolls stop you from doing so. But just put trolls on the ignore list where they belong. I have.

Well, that explains it. Since the Official Forum definition of "troll" is someone who staunchly defends their own opinion while precisely proving you wrong, everyone who ever made a good point got blocked.

Edit: Never been so tempted to log back in there and reply to that thread, but I know it would just fall on deaf ears anyway.

The name complaining sounds fake and stupid to me, the character creation menu wont even let you put offensive words in a name, even if someone spells it differently for the same meaning, its stupid as hell to even complain about it, how does that even affect you? people are fucking stupid i swear.

someone gotta ask panthera for his proof of merits, because I think he's probably "pretending" to have me on ignore as a "troll". aka he doesn't want to admit that's what his merits are really like. Or like a psycho bitch he's been xping the past few days to try and cap them now.

I half-expected his profile to go dark after being posted, or at least incriminating data to be taken down, i.e. merits. I don't understand how anyone active in this game can not be capped merits, even if you're a Maat's Cap or something.

Also, I had no idea we were on the same server apparently.

Eh, I'm not capped merits on my BRD 'cause I'm lazy, nor on my BLM because I really don't care about AM2s. Or SAM but that's 'cause I degeared it around 80ish, never got to use it for anything.

I'd do that too to someone I dislike, considering I had a fucking GM tell me I had to change my mules name from Jigga. No one called a GM on me about it, I had to contact a GM about something unrelated and they just go "btw that name's gotta go".

If the fetch quests give you seals, equipment, gil, or cruor, they're fine. If fetch quests and the like give exp, that's cheating.

If only this idiot realized his idealized game wherein no one leeches and all exp is only done in perfectly balanced groups and no one ever takes a shortcut ever doesn't exist. If this was literally any other game genre this would be moot.

That's not exactly what he said, but apparently EXP is only allowed to come from killing mobs, or rewards for killing mobs.

I guess no one should tell him that if you run Slaughterhouse Ops you can nab a decent bit of EXP despite never doing ANYTHING combat related. That's cheating, guys.
