There were some programs that probably just weren't on your server. There was one in particular, it displayed an LS message when stuff would pop, saying what the mob was and what zone it was in, AND it would give you an arrow showing you which direction it was from you

Can someone clarify something for me regarding third party tools? I don't use them but this dude who said ixion was the most kiteable in mob in game. I'm not sure if theyre saying the program could tell you what zone had xx mob in it or if theyre saying someone can call out pops via dspot scanning, which is true, but isn't there a range on the arrow thing? How exactly does this program work and did it actually help in having an advantage on sw/di?

I'm curious because I have played with people who use these programs in the past and I was always under the assumption you had to actually be in range of the pop or on the deathspot to call out pop, and if it pops too far from the spot, you wont get an an "arrow". Also, all mobs have different .dats in each specific zone, meaning even though sw could be up in meriph, its .dat in meriph was different than rolan. Is this correct? Please explain

you know you made this post right after the guy in your quote posted in this thread, right? lol seems a bit awkward.

I never used these programs so not sure on the arrow bit, but I know the notification in LS exists (was in an ls a long time back where a guy had that). Not sure about zones though, but he definitely didn't need to be in range of the mob.

usually only a select few get access to it. but that shit eventually spreads.

Oh okay, I stand correct then. I just couldn't take the word of a guy who considered Dark Ixion "one of the eaisest mobs to kite".

Yeah sure. You'll survive for about 15seconds w.o a tank, unless you sbind it or have someone helping you.

The {Abyssea is awesome, the cap is fine} thread was such a nice change of pace from the relentless whining on the forum (also, the devs don't get enough credit for changing the direction of the game for the better), but I suppose it was destined to devolve into whining as well.

I think I might take a break from starcades rubber room. I think it was his line of you can't be wrong and be entitled to your own opinion that got me. That and the fact I'm doing permanent damage from smashing my head against my desk.
