i have just read some of his blog posts and i have to say that it starts as funny but after a few posts it turns into a scary read... it sounds like he might go too far and hurt (or even kill) himself if he can't get results if he ever sues SE. i can already see on the news; "a 42 years old man who appeared to have started a personal crusade against Squre-Enix, Inc. over a video game created by said company on his blog was found to have committed suicide in his apartment. There was a note attached to his chest that reads: LM-17. The meaning of this message is still under investigation."

BG advertises third party stuff? I've missed it.

I would love to see the world through his eyes for just a moment; knowing how gear works and how to write macros and knowing how to fight things is clearly only possible once you've paid thousands of dollars in stolen accounts and illicit gil.

Most amusingly, he claims that people who post on BG and this side of the NA playerbase is the reason SE is in financial trouble, but last I checked I pay 12.95 a month and he doesn't. Every one of you people paying for two or more accounts and using your illegal windowers and buying gil (gil has a use these days...?) should be ashamed of yourself for sticking with the game this long! We should all learn from Goodie Starcade's superior moral concept and get ourselves banned forever.

This is what I'd imagine it be like, except instead of KKK members it'd be little labels with CHEATER, and the reason why they are Cheaters.

I went back to get some context on why he called out Aks on being the Asshole of the Day or whatever the fuck, and it's kind of pathetic. That whole "assimilate into people who know how to play the game?" thing that according to Starcade must involve illegal gil, third party programs and the like?

I'd stop short of recommending suicide, though. Starcade has said that he is unlikely to contribute to the biological legacy of humanity, but we also have a cultural legacy that might benefit from his input or it's reaction to his input. A lot of people say crazy shit. Starcade is doing us a service by providing a narrative so extreme that it makes other people look moderate.

The problem with even responding to Starcade is, the guy can take ANYTHING YOU SAY and contort it to fit his mental image of vile, horrible, illegal, terribad cheaters and third-party program users. There is no logical discussion with this chap because his crusade against the illegals in FFXI has driven him to a point of perceived mental solitude. If you're not with him, you're against him and believe me, you're not with him if there's ANY chance you've ever used a third-party program, bought gil, read something on the intarwebz that was learned by parsing, or what the fuck ever.

Everybody, and I mean everybody, has cheated at something. Starcade is a moron if he expects anything, especially a game to be cheater-free. You use a calculator to solve your math problems? That's technically cheating. You count your calories? That's cheating at food.
