From what I've seen, the gross majority of people who get a "bad" experience from BG (i.e., getting their thread locked upon impact, or a swift kick in the ban), are people who couldn't be fucked to take two minutes to look at the forum, see where and how people are posting, and save themselves the headache. It's kind of the catch-22 of trying to highlight the RQT: the people who are going to read yet another USE THE RQT FOR YOUR ONE-OFF QUESTIONS are the people who don't need the reminder.

I was just reading one of the Smn threads on the Smn board where Dallas is posting about his epic Smn melee and it's just a massive headache. Like 4 pages are of one guy saying "YES, ANY JOB INSIDE ABYSSEA CAN DO NICE DMG, TELL ME WHAT KIND OF DMG YOU DO OUTSIDE" and Dallas completely ignores it and just continues to mention how gimp other Smns melee dmg is inside Abyssea.

Hard Sell, if Dallas/Alhm didn't exist I'd say melee Rdm, at least most other Smns seem to recognize their melee isn't viable on hard stuff. That and melee Rdms seem to have little clue on what 'fix' they want to support that isn't going to massively suck (stop asking for fucking Fencer like you'll seriously use it).

melee SMN are the bane of the SMN community. i can't help but feel sad for the official forums because there are people like Alhanelem and Dallas propagating such bullshit... and there are blind people who actually support them every now and then.

also somewhat off topic in thread but relevant to what one of the threads were discussing.. Byrth, I implore you to ask Sono to add a BGWiki tab to the top of our forums here.. because I find myself wanting to use it lately (XIclopedia/GamerEscape forking was BS - charitwo truly is an ass) but i kinda need to scroll all the way down to a dead forum (BG-Wiki discussion) before I can click on a link to it.. and I'm the kind who's lazy to type URLs. U're prolly the best person for it cos u've been putting a lot of work into it, as far as i can see..
I'd think Sono would agree with such a suggestion but if not I'm pretty sure you will get a vote of support from a lot of people for such a change.

I made a list of things I'd like to see done to improve the accessibility of BG wiki in the mod forum a while back, and I keep bumping it to try and get something done. I think I'm going to have to stop being so passive about it and just PM Ragns/Sonomaa.

My suggestions basically boiled down to search engine improvements, making [[Something]] parse as a BG wiki link on the BG forums, and adding BG wiki to the top bar again.

The only reason they're clamoring for it is because of the name. Naming it Fencer instead of Face Smash trait #347, and then withholding it from the job whose iconic weapon is a rapier? SE's is trolling.

Player contests aren't inherently a bad thing if that's what you're trying to lol at.

Now, designing a whole quest line? Unlikely. Art submission as a concept for weapons, armor, or monsters? Sure.

Done it, still doing it. On three accounts, no less. I spammed reports on that one sig being offensive and borderline pornography, with all sorts of reasons as to why it shouldn't be allowed in a forum where teenagers as young as 13 are allowed to post, but I'm pretty sure he just changed it himself when he got bored of it.
