I need to find some form of punishment for allowing myself to read the job threads again. Some are okay, but then I hit the ones that want to make me slam my head through the desk and maybe to the floor below. Lately I've been browsing the THF job threads 'cause I figure hey, I wanna put a little more work into my THF, make it a bit more than the backup-TH6/mid-level DD (My THF needs a good deal of improvement). I apologize if someone has mentioned this previously and I missed it, but this Covenant guy... ugh.

Just reading the thread titles alone made me wary:

Thief update ~ new job ability "money-bag" attack - Gil Toss. This one actually sounds interesting, it's canonical and allows us to make use of gil again. Only credit he's gotten so far.

Thief-Update-Utsemi-Souleater-boost-like-attack - Lolwut? Apparently he wants a Souleater type move for THFs for X-amount of attacks or something.

Thief update ~ job ability "Mug" to share "aural steal"(?) - He wants Mug to do Aura Steal too. Um. Meh, not like the last one but this one still makes me shake my head.

Pretty much this guy thinks he's Altana's Gift to Thieves and he's annoying as hell.

Unfortunately, I left my keyfob at home today, so I can't tell that guy what a fucking retard he is.

I think the RDM Melee thread hit a new level of stupid.

Just got out of a small conversation where i commented on the fact someone said they'd chose the gimpyrean Sword (WoE Version) over Almace because of looks.

and apparently willingly choosing a gimp weapon for fashion is better than not knowing any better.

I tried to help, but that guy is as belligerently ignorant as most of the people on the official forums. It's like arguing with a very talkative stick. You waste a lot of effort and have no chance of changing its nature.

They honestly don't seem to know any better. Despite all their vitriol for RDM's mage capabilities, they're no better at gearing a RDM for melee than they are at gearing a RDM for mage duties.

I like how Hyrist recognizes that some of the Magian staves are excellent for RDM, yet because of an old grudge, he refuses to use them. Duelle, instead of using proper swords while meleeing, uses an INT/MAB Shamshir +2 as his exceedingly poor alternative to using staves. This is why so many players have problems with melee RDMs: the majority of the melee-centric RDMs can't be bothered to use sensible gear and weapons. To make matters worse, they're no better at gearing a RDM for mage tasks.

That's enough on the melee RDMs (for now), so I'll share a little something found in the THF forum.

I'm sure some of you remember Eri's absolutely dreadful Dancer Support/Healing Redux Idea (also /Dnc suggestions) thread. Well, s/he is at it again in the THF forum:

I love Sneak Attack as much as the next guy and gal, but really now, THF is one of the jobs better-suited to survive an angry NM's focus. The last thing I'd want to do on that job is purposely lower my enmity below that of mages, and I'd like to think that most THFs know how to shift hate enough to use Sneak Attack. Besides, since it's so easy to hit the enmity cap on melee jobs in Abyssea, it's no issue to wait for hate to shift to the other melee(s) and then quickly pop off a Sneak Attack.

Tanking/co-tanking is just part of being an acceptably-geared DD in Abyssea.
