I'm glad that SE actually did the right thing in regards to closing threads, but we're all kidding ourselves if we think it's because SE thought it was being abused. The only reason they did it is because users could override a GM lock.

That being said, now we're are going to see more butthurt whiny bitches pulling a katz and deleting all of their posts in a thread just so they can when it finally becomes apparent how wrong they are.

I honestly didn't even read the second part of the post. Any time a thread has "[DEV]" or "Developers:" or "To The Devs:" you can expect that fucking guy to be in there bitching about people addressing the devs specifically.

In fairness, didn't SE fess up at some vanafest or another that only like 15% of the playerbase had completed CoP a few years after it was out?

I mean, I'm not going to bother sourcing that because I care less than this much ---> |-|, but there are enough people out there still asking for sleeps for the pot fight right now to suggest that even if CoP was not The Hardest Thing Ever it was still too hard for the majority of the playerbase to complete. It's good for a game to have difficult content, but to make main storyline content that's about as mandatory as anything in the game harder than all but the most difficult optional bosses in pretty much any other FF just seems a little...weird.

Not that any of this has anything to do with Divine Might, which is totally optional and not story content at all.

One person got it exactly right. Here's the scenario:

You are sitting at a bar. Some guy sits next to you and asks your name. You don't tell him. He insists that he has a right to know your name. He starts trashing you for not telling him. There is a word for it. CREEPY. In the real world, this guy gets thrown out of bars, fired from jobs, or even arrested. Online, this guy thrives.

If you think anyone OWES you their character name, you are VERY creepy.

As I warned at the beginning of this thread, I had bigger plans. I've always said the information flows in one direction. When they announced this change, I performed yet another service to the FFXI community. I proved without a doubt that I was the only person capable of perpetuating the longest thread. The creepy people who "demand justice" are not the source of information.

I have told everyone who I am. I am the same poster from wiki forums who directly caused 2 unpopular pet jobs to be nerfed. I had a choice. Share with the entire community, report it as broken and avoid it, or risk a Salvage-esque end to my gaming career. Post nerf, both jobs still jumped 6 positions in the census because of my choice.

That's all you get to know about me. I produce results and am one heck of a conversational piece.

Funny part is, as mad as he is with his broken english, he's right. If I see a solo nin/dnc fighting a sobek I wait by, if my sobek goes yellow I assume someone will claim, if I come upto a ??? I'll be spamming macro. Over the past week or 2 I've been working on Kannagi and it's funny how at Bria people got mad if you spammed for the ??? instead of waiting in line, but sobek stage it's expected. I foolishly went to aby-lathiene at JP midnight because I wanted to build a set of 16, walk up to a ??? and they told me there was a line of 16 pops before me. You should have seen the amount of slaps and {leave} were had when I popped.

So, what I was thinking is, some rich guy somewhere has a bunch of monkeys in a room hitting keyboards trying to generate the complete works of Shakespeare. Not wanting to waste all of their non-Shakespearean output, said rich guy has a computer program designed to filter their output by relevance. Dallas' posts are the things the computer filters out as topically relevant to FFXI.
