Probably would get delted by mods for being harassment of some odd sorts.
Edit: polearm is cheating according to them because they said hagun sam.

I don't see whats the point of trying to prove your job is good at melee when they ask for multiple restrictions to the other DD that make him gimp.
Really, doesn't the cheapen the entire reasoning? I mean even if he succeeds in dealing 80% of your damage, it seems to me like it'd be a hollow victory because the only thing he succeeding in doing was beating a dumbed-down SAM.
Kam and i would just have him parse 90 ukon if that happened.
Do these people even understand that this is not a blitzed-out SAM? Are they gonna come away with a fairly low-medium parse number and think, "Well, that was an awesome SAM and we did this good!!!11!" Without even realizing that it's not a good SAM? Just want to make sure I'm clear here. Should do two parses, one with an "average" SAM and one with a fully decked SAM, just to show them how fucking badly their argument gets destroyed.
But that's just me. I don't put it past these people to honestly think that how you're gearing is as decked as possible and then use that to say they "won" in some regard. Make sure you're very clear that they understand that it's not a spectacular setup by any means. Or else just go balls to the wall decked out and obliterate them.
I would put them both in the same party, if you're using outside healers you can have 2x support and 4 melee.
RDM SAM SAM DRGorWAR
One SAM (since this seems to be the hangup) geared moderately, the other geared perfectly. This is going to construe the data because shit's going to be alive for 25s or less but at the same time is more realistic.

I give it an hour til its deleted/locked by mods.
My last post was elitist, I said THF was there for cor rolls and PUP and DNC we're welcome at the party.
Oh my god, that thread is so win... xD I'm looking forward to seeing what happens. Even if it just ends up as a quick lock, this has potential to be hilarious.
While this is true to an extent, all those other forums don't have a me, and are thus inherently inferior.Originally Posted by Karbuncle on the Official Forums
Fascinating how thier first "legitimate" attempt to mock bg consists of name calling saying the ffxiwiki community can do it instead when the wiki people just steal the info from off of bg in the first place. At least one of em got off the starting block instead of yelling about bgtrolls.
I think Rearden's was a troll post. Pretty sure hes a poser here
Is it really that hard to grasp?
For as much as some here want to crusade about spreading knowledge, they certainly go about it the dumbest ways possible. Immediately running in all aggressive and hostile automatically puts up the target's defenses where, if otherwise reasonable people, they'll certainly not want to give the time of day to someone who comes in swinging, often unprovoked. Like I said before, it's more like people want to make a spectacle of others instead of trying to educate, and that's kinda been proven by the lengths people are trying to go through dragging Hyrist around and even skewing things in their own way by saying they'll use an outside healer. And for the record, I think the 80% is bull, but that's just me being experienced in both RDM and other DDs. On some level, you guys should realize the lengths you're going to to prove RDM sucks only gives them further justification for buffs.
Now, was Starcade batshit? Probably. The thread progression has been systematically going down from extremes, to not so much, to people just being anal cunts here because someone dares look at a job differently. Of course the official boards aren't going to tolerate threads rife with ridicule and harassment, no matter how justified it might be. There's certainly an element of gross hypocrisy in lumping other boards as "retards" and the like without expecting this place to garner its own reputation. Tummie's not a retard, for example, and his roots more or less began on Alla. I'll be damned if people here haven't mooched his DAT mining info in the past, among other things. Regardless, where does it stop? Whatever utopia some of you guys think you're trying to achieve is never going to happen and at best devolves into personal grudge wars where 'ganging up' is risked every time someone decides to link a thread. Hell, that RDM thread had been pretty quiet until Eeeks decided to rag both in general then with personal attacks, then Aurare jumped in (and thusly bitched about retardation again), with others following suit making a mountain out of a mole hill. Why? Boredom? Yeeeeeeeah.
More specific to you, Isla, inaction can imply support. While you might have your fan club and all that jazz, being a red name and letting the thread ride says a lot. An unfair guilty by association? Maybe, but that coincides with my earlier point on cross-forum stereotypes. I find it kinda funny that your rule for this is "Don't bring 'em here!" which, in the rare case it does happen, usually results in the person getting dogpiled then you pretending to nanny for a bit even though you set the stage to begin with.
I agree that some do what you say, however its far from all.
I say my fair share of insults but if you read through 90% of my posts on the Official forums i at least try to explain my point and understand the other persons. I remain open minded.
Normally when you see my posts here its about 1-2 specific posts/posters. For instance, a few up someone mentioned an insult about BG using math, I replied about how it was basically like insulting us for learning. It wasn't directed at the entire forum, just the post in question.
I know my words don't always match my thoughts, But I don't think every idea on the official forums are bad, and i don't think all posters are bad, there are some who are just vehemently uneducated and refuse to learn, who are generally the types who end up here.
My forum personality also varies a bit from my in-game. I do try to help others in game if I'm ever asked for advice (Which happens more often than i expect). I'm sure some people here always feel the same way.
Most people who hate BG hate if because "A friend of a friend said he posted there once and they're all assholes", or posted without reading stickies, then bitchies and throws punches everywhere when its brought up he should read the stickies, and ends up banned.
Its a stereotype of the forum thats propagated between people who are afraid this is some evil place where you'll get banned for posting at all. Its not that at all. There are a few assholes here, but they're everywhere, and I don't really think BG has more "Assholes" Than any other FFXI forum, it just gets the worst stigma because its actually modded.
I always told anyone who asked me about posting here that if they just take the time to lurk around for awhile, They will learn all they need to know about not to getting ass fucked by the BG community at large.
Maybe I'm just being an idealist, but modded properly, there should be fewer assholes than elsewhere. So, on some level, that speaks of a base ideology where being a dick is okay... as long as you know what 2+2 is. Frankly, I can't fault anyone for not knowing the intricate ins and outs of the game, especially if new. It's not like the game itself throws web sites at you to browse for knowledge, and while we might think a "good player" will poke around and ask people, I think some grossly underestimate the casual who just logs on, does some stuff, logs off, then gets on with their life.
Furthering my idealistic drivel, if the place was accepting, one really wouldn't have to lurk. Sure, they might take some bumps initially, but if the first response is to (temp) ban? Eh.I always told anyone who asked me about posting here that if they just take the time to lurk around for awhile, They will learn all they need to know about not to getting ass fucked by the BG community at large.
Its like that in almost all forums i read too... If you take the time to read stickies and learn how things work you'll be fine... But your average poster is really stupid.
I'm not surprised that a lot of people hate BG, I'm just curious if they even hate it for legitimate reasons outside of rumors/stigma.
