Awesome idea for FFXI:
Stick the weakest job of all of them next to the mob inside AOE range and tell them they're suppose to melee!

Am I the only one that see's the inherent problem with this? It's not like any SMN would get bored if they played correctly anyway, I dunno what the uproar suddenly is with the melee crowd. They should just go play war or sam or something and shut up.

Still doesn't mean that his original idea would be awesome in some other game. It just doesn't fit FFXI at all. I just like the idea of it. I'm biased a bit because I really like the idea of Avatar possession, or becoming the Avatar.

But again, I touch base with Reality and admit to myself this will never happen nor be added.

The average SMN-Melee person is rather stupid in itself.

I approve of this hypothetical melee thread. I mean, it's not right! /DNC isn't enough any more than SMN/WAR or RDM/WAR is enough for Double Attack and Fencer! I feel, nay! I DEMAND that all "DD" jobs be given the ability to self-stoneskin and self-heal on our main jobs. It's not right that a MAGE can sub MY main job and gain access to MY skills! I mean, a RDM can sub ninja and do EIGHTY PERCENT of a pimped-out SAM's damage, while ALSO casting haste and refresh and dia. What part of that is balanced? In terms of flexibility my WAR is only capable of one thing, and it isn't fair because I am a special snowflake and my job should be superior to every one else's.

I'm thinking about making another FFXI shit list thread in general, then pairing it down to the absolute worst offenders then putting it on the official forums. Stuff like the portal door in whitegate, the mog house taking an extra minute to make you zone if you change jobs, the oversaturation of king pops, ect.

Kingfury started off really annoying but he's become a lot better. I read that melee SMN thread that was linked a bit ago and he really came back down to earth.

Also, someone find out if he has a deviantArt page. I'd follow him. His FFXI art, for the most part, is pretty good.

If you got here through my link from FFXIAH, then I should tell you that no Violent Flourish hit rate testing has been done. It obviously doesn't get +95% though. Krizz is very unlikely to click the link to testing, because he doesn't actually play the game, so it was just a clever way to link my original post and get around his asshattery.

Here are my posts, with one instance of profanity removed. I have to assume that's why they were deleted, because everything else in them was factual and non-offensive. Also, because no one PMed me to tell me.

The worst punishment they have is banning you from the forums.

The only person who has been banned from the forums and the game that I know of (and plenty of BG guys have been banned from the forums), was Starcade. He was batshit and a menace to the game, so it makes sense to ban him.

People are afraid to post on the official forum for fear of being banned from the game. I'm telling them that they won't be banned unless they're literally threatening general violence against the FFXI community. You do both forums a disservice by preventing people from getting this information.

By the way, it's pretty dumb to let people hit "Edit" on their deleted posts and see what the posts were if you're going to overmoderate like this. I don't generally post anything worthy of moderation, so I couldn't have even began to guess what the "offensive" posts were if it wasn't for this flaw in your system. If you're going to censor information and opinions, at least do it properly.

Only time i visit FFXIAH forums anymore is the occasional look through new-topics to see if there's anything interesting. Its always been a cesspool of bad trolls that i rate below Official Forum status. Barely any decent info comes out of your average topic there that I can't find here first.

I won't give them no credit, theres some damn good posters there, but they're sadly drowned behind the waves of bad trolls.

I just don't touch them anymore, except to check prices when I'm far from an AH. Most of the forums just aren't worth reading lately, though there were certainly some very informative posters. It's just not worth digging through all the crap to find them. >_>

lol, I made a post stating that I felt threatened by someone stating that anyone who goes to BG deserved to die, and that I wondered if anything could be done about this and that post + anyone from BG's was deleted

Any and all players who frequent(ed) Killing Ifrit or BlueGartr forums. FFXI was fine until the elitists decided to ruin it for everyone else who aren't theorycraft geeks or who aren't keen on running with the Joneses 24/7. Also, any loudmouths who lobby S-E to make things more difficult than it needs to be (First Offense: CoP at release, Latest Offense: Emperador de Altepa) while using God Mode items to get their loot (Coach Ditka said it best: "Who Ya Crappin'")
