I usually bring it Rdm/blm. Gets TEs way easier than Thf, downing them in 2 nukes, so the mule gets all the 10min, and the Thf searchs for the 20.
After, during the farm, mule pulls easily, has access to all Sleeps, and is durable enough full buffed. I just don't see the point to Whm alt, even Blm/whm would be a better combo, probably OSing the TEs.

And yes, fuck Qufim. If there is even only 1 ppl inside, you can be sure Triple bats will be taken / you will be camped on top of. To easily fucked runs in short
WHM has strong barspells (+176), enhanced Shellra, strong Regen, cureskin, fast status removal, Divine Caress, auspice, Repose, and Boost spells. (Say what you will, but an essentially free +21 STR is nothing to shit at.) I don't have to waste my TP removing status effects or curing myself.

I have been thinking about bringing Atum on SCH/RDM for the awesome Regen, passable Firestorm boost, Phalanx, Adloquium, and access to strong nukes and Helixes.

But when it comes down to it, it is a matter of comfort and knowing the job very well. I am very used to playing two-box WHM down to the point of rote since Atum is on it almost all of the time. While I enjoy SCH, I don't play it nearly as much.

My SCH had been neglected for a while before ADL and new Nyzul appeared but for anything where cure spamming isn't required it's definitely the superior healer. Regen V is 70? hp/tick and lasts around 5 minutes with perpetuance, haste and phalanx last 7:30, just those 3 is enough support maybe even on DC mobs. Plus with dark arts you can one-shot all the TEs with ease and sleep mobs if needed.

I would also be keen to level sch on my mule, mostly for the buffs that septimus covered. I only ever need mad whm cures when I link 4-5 DC mobs instead of 3.

Hmm. Looks like I have a new mission for Kreugar after I finish off his Nin +2s.

Are there any decent JA camps in glacier besides the EP orc one?

Just got back from a several month break (was on the verge of no longer paying and outright quitting til craft cap raise was announced plus Vanafest potential big news).... what affects Forgotten drop rates besides TH? Does # of TEs influence ability to get Forgottens like it does currency? Someone in LS (who I remember not being too bright so could be wrong) said they only drop at night ingame? Is he right/wrong?

Also, why the CoP-Dyna love compared to farming for them in cities/xarc/beauc?

Read the last 3-4 pages of posts, didn't see answers for these questions.

CoP zones supply higher amounts of currency, what affects the drop of the forgotten item is the strength of the monsters. i.e. there are EP mobs and DC mobs in CoP, there were EP and DC mobs in City zones but because of the level cap raise to 99 they got bumped down to EP.

TH plays a factor in it as well, EP mobs have a much lower rate of drop on Forgotten items, while the stronger mobs drop them more frequently and have the chance of dropping 2.

edit; forgot to mention, CoP zones supply higher amounts of currency cause you can choose what you want to farm in, Ja, Ws or Magic and lock yourself to that proc type.

Not to mention that beastmen suck. Nightmare mobs don't astral flow or put up shadows or cast -ga spells on you. They just whiff at you and die.

Agreed. A few times I've done the EP Orcs in Valkurm and didn't have too much trouble with them. A random Eagle Eye Shot here and there would make things close. Just trying out different camps/mobs. For my money though I'll stick with the nightmare mobs. Treants, Funguars, and Sheep to be specific.

Honestly, I don't mind the DC beastmen mobs that are JA procs. Generally I will turn my back when RNGs get close to 50% and they are not proced if I don't have the chance to pre-proc them. The WS and Magic procs can go jump into a tire fire though.

The DC orcs in valkurm provide a pretty decent camp. They are almost all JA near the manticores with one BLM mixed in.

In beaucedine there are tons of JA camps. Off the top of my head... the yagudo surrounding the yagudo TE are all JA minus one SAM and one RDM. Quadav near the orcs are mostly JA (never used this camp more than a couple times). Goblins right next to the ramp leading down to the yagudo are almost all JA (minus SAM and DRG or something). Goblin's around goblin TE are mixed, but lots of JA there too.

If you want forgotten items, the hydra to the left of the first ramp leading up are pretty decent (BSTx2, THF, RNG + others).

Other stuff not mentioned: DC beastment in CoP zones cannot double drop forgotten items; only higher leveled beastment in city/beaucedine/xarc can double drop. With that said, you are better off farming nightmare mobs anyway for reasons already stated.

Not conventional beastmen but lower level Hydra in Beaucedine can definitely double drop Forgotten Thoughts. I've been helping farm Dagourmarche papers and we do the Hydras at Quiebitiel pop area which are all EP. They've double dropped Forgotten Thoughts more than once. Last run they were pissing out thoughts, 19 as a trio which was bizarre as we usually manage like 5.

How does weakening the CoP zone bosses work now? And are they soloable?

Kill the NMs that used to weaken them to get enfeeble items, then use those items on the boss. Most of them should be soloable by the right jobs.

Well I tried the qufim one as bst and it was a bit messy. Did around 800 damage to me on pop before I could put my pet on it, than throw some random boulders at me for like 400-500 a piece before I realized I needed to stay at least like 25' away. Even with all 3 weakening items, it hit my falcor pretty hard/accurately with full pet defense setup, and took around 10-15 minutes to kill with 10% pet haste.

On the topic of qufim, is there any decent spot there to farm beastmen at all? Not even talking about a JA camp, just anywhere to farm nq af2. The best I could come up with in the time I had left over was running back and forth between the couple of goblins at the tower entrance, and a few of the yags/turtles by where the shinryu portal would be.

On Bst I’ve soloed Quf, Bub, and Tav.
Mainly used the full pet-pdt set along with some other minor pieces (some +pet haste/attack…etc)

Bubur was easy as hell. All dragons that drop enfeeb items were soloable as well.

Quf is tough at the start. I’ve been successful all 3/4 attempts but always had low HPs. Its tough to get your pet on asap and use all enfeeb items off right away. It’s ranged attack moves and AoE temp moves are painful.

For Tav, not sure which Diab I killed but he was a breeze. Didn’t use any enfeeb items (if there even are any).
I tried Tav a second time and popped a different Diab which spammed death…did not go as well. So if your lucky enough to get the non-death casting one(s), they should be bst soloable.

As for Valk – I duo’d this one with another Bst. It was a little rough because you lose your pet when popping. Which isn’t a huge deal unless it uses EBB early. We ended up keeping 1 pet on it at a time. If it died we put the other on. Not very hard at all. Again, just take care when using the enfeeb items.

I'd imagine you got Somnus. He's by far the easiest, any of the other 3 would probably make short work of any BST pet.

qufim boss never seemed to do that random ranged attack on me as long as I stayed in melee range. Once I started meleeing it the fight got so much easier. Killed it faster than the golem for weakening item

I haven't tried qufim boss or tavnazia bosses.

I did the valkurm boss... I farmed all 3 weakness items... but didn't know how to use them at the time. I tried trading them w/ the pop item... so I used none of them and let Yuly solo the fight while I used zetas and tried to recover from weakness.

The only weakness item you really want for Buburimu is to lock the 2-hours. None of the others really matter.

I popped him, used all weakness items except the 2-hour and got owned by chainspell.
Reraised, and claimed him before he despawned.
GooeyGerard didn't have any trouble killing him solo after that.

So, not only can bst solo them, BST can solo them w/out weakness items.
