Definitely can gear swap for whirl of rage since it will stun them anyway. I can't think of any reason why he would be getting pwned other than that his -pdt is not capped. Maybe not using taco? Taco's not really needed but helps.

With that said, I found a really nice magic farming method for BLU. I should have figured it out earlier, but since I never use the spell, I didn't think about it. Sandspin has a very low recast and is perfect for magic AoE farming (for procs). Don't even have to use diaga if you want the RDM to retain their sub.

Another thing you could try is an evasion build. The mobs miss like crazy even with BLU's crappy evasion skill. With a mixture of -pdt and evasion, they might be able to survive better.

To contribute to the thread, I know it's been pretty much proven, but got a jadeshell today with my RDM sub unlocked. I proc'd it with circle blade when the mob was almost dead (my sub locked). RDM definitely had hate on the mob by then.

I have no idea why you even try to stagger with damaging spells if you have hard time surviving. BLU has a lot AoE debuffs just choose 3 and circle spam them with whirl -> dream every 30 sec or something.

What's a blu PDT set looking like, to get it set up? Wouldn't you need a Terra's staff or dual PDT swords, Darksteel +1 is pretty pricey as well..?

If you're needing to be able to maintain some sort of passable accuracy while tanking long-term, yeah, PDT swords would probably be your best bet. Darksteel+1 is still neat, but with new options for PDT gear, and the defense of your other armor climbing pretty steadily, some pieces probably aren't nearly as good as they used to be.

Weapon: PDT sword + genbu's shield

Gives me ~-45% pdt during the day, and ~-50% at night. Also gives capped haste. Vunk earrings would give ~-49%.

Snoll : 14 Melee Capes, 11 Monster Belts, 6 Cleric's Belts, 5 Wyrm Belts
Stirges : 1 Melee Cape

Shells:
Diremite : 6 Argute Belts, 4 Commodore Belts, 3 Pantin Capes, 3 Saotome Koshi-Ate, 2 Summoner's Capes

Byne:
Gaylas : 1 Abyss Cape, 1 Duelist's Belt
Kraken : 1 Duelist's Belt

Pattern seems pretty clear to me. The zone drops 13 different accessories and it looks like they're split between the three types of currency 4:5:4. The missing drops for Bynes would be Assassin's Cape and Scout's Belt.

Can anyone pull similar info out of their logs from other zones?

433 Snolls killed/22 -1s, 325 Nightmare Diremite/15 -1s

So -1s are approximately a 5% drop rate with TH2. I can't swear I was THing perfectly, but obviously I try to TH everything. I don't see any kind of relationship between monster type and drop type here. Any EP Nightmare kill seems to have a 0.25% chance of dropping the armor you're looking for with TH2.

One of them must drop 14, yeah? So it would be 14+13+13=40 with each piece dropping in two of the three zones.

DNC cape and SCH belt have only ever dropped in one zone each. Blame SE for their consistency. Bubu actually drops 12 accessories, allegedly.

We got both RNG and NIN yesterday but I didn't SS or anything - I believe it was Bunny(Bronze): RNG, Crawler(Byne):NIN. Should be going later today and I will confirm but I am pretty sure that's it.

Good enough. Two reports of NIN off Byne mobs and one suspected off Bronze mob which gives 4 per currency type in Bubu.
