General Update Changes (May-09-11)

Ohsi... I wonder if cures are totally uncapped now too...


From what I can gather based on this and Kirschy's crit thread, it looks like a lot (if not all) enhancements that previously had hard caps just got lifted. That's what that clause in the update notes about gear traits abilities & other sources meant with regards to levels of specific skills;

# *The level indicated is that at which the trait will initially be obtained. Trait effectiveness will subsequently increase at higher levels.
# The following job traits and attributes will see their maximum level of effectiveness adjusted by equipment, magic, and/or job abilities.

Critical Hit Rate / Critical Hit Damage / Beast Killer / Plantoid Killer / Vermin Killer / Lizard Killer / Bird Killer / Amorph Killer / Aquan Killer / Undead Killer / Arcana Killer / Demon Killer / Dragon Killer / Fast Cast / Kick Attacks / Skillchain Bonus / Conserve MP / Magic Burst Bonus / Snap Shot / Recycle / Ninja Tool Expertise

^ So all of those things now break whatever old default limits they had before with the right gear etc... that explains the new cap on crit damage buffs of 100%.


So, does this make Merciless Matriarch that much better?

did 12 chloris last night, dropped a card of balance on every fight, didnt ever drop a coin though. We weren't proccing yellow, but I doubt that in 11 kills with no yellow, that it would never drop a coin if it were indeed in the drop pool.

but I can also confirm Glavoid does drop both the stone and card of balance....so idk

Just noticed at the Argus area that SE ninja'd a second Protozoan into the zone and they are now 5 minute respawn times

Has it ever been possible to get any of those things, apart from Crit Rate & DMG I mean, to 50% or higher anyway though?

I'm fairly certain the killer traits for example never had all that high a proc rate to begin with anyway.

Just noticed at the Argus area that SE ninja'd a second Protozoan into the zone and they are now 5 minute respawn times

I was farming scorps for shells in CN and noticed mobs repop after 5 mins in dungeons now.

I was getting stuck at the downloading data screen in upper jeuno, and had to have a friend log in as me and move me in order to fix it. Decided to test my luck since they did emergency maint the other day and hopefully fixed it, and is still happening. It isn't windower, bc I launched it without windower and am still getting stuck.

Anyone still getting this / find a solution?

Any help would be appreciated.

I believe I've read an account or two that flushing your DNS cache can fix this problem. I might be confusing this with another problem, but it can't hurt to try.

Gave it a try, even with rebooting XI. Also ran a file check (which turned up nothing wrong) and am still getting stuck. Gonna have to call and see whats going on.

It doesn't seem like all dungeon mobs run off a lesser respawn time. Currently doing slime in garlaige[s] and its close to 10 minute and they still haven't repopped. Was hoping they followed suit like the other zone changes... this staff trial is gonna blow.

Dungeon respawn for mob has always been 16mins. no? I remember them giving some bullshit reason on why they don't want to make it 5min respawn like overworld mobs.

people have reported other dungeon mob repops to be 5min since the patch

Pretty sure only areas with Grounds of Valor had their Respawn times reduced to 5 minutes.
