Anyone have all five Ogier's yet? Guy in my LS has four (missing hands), set bonus is the same for 2 or 3 pieces at 1 MP/tick (lame), 4 pieces is 2MP/tick. Wondering if full set is also 2/tick or if it goes up to 3/tick.

damn really? i was told it was like 5mp/tick with the full set, thats lol
which makes me wonder if the set bonuses for the other 2 sets are as good as they "appear" knowing how crappy Ogiers set bonus is.
How viable would a manaburn party be against Rex after update with capped lights to start? I think he has about 200k hp. My thundajas were doing 5k if I had a sch for weather. Assuming you get blm with macc gear and at least jupiter's staff I could see it working with everyone opening with thundaja followed up by thunder 5 burst 2.
Can kill it now manaburn, 5 blms + smn one party, 5 blms + brd party 2, Party 3 pld, rdm, whm plus 3 proccers, Requires blms useing meds in time and alot of luck on HQ procs.
Lolz so they nerfed the shit out of VW now,

Hello guys,
I wanted to share my strat and experience with Botulus Rex-
After reading and attempting all the different strategies for Rex, I decided to try it this way
and realized it's more consistent/easier to find people compared to WAR zerg or WF spam.
The setup was:
PT1: BLM BLM BLM BLM WHM COR (WF)
PT2: BLM BLM BLM BLM WHM COR (WF)
PT3: WAR DRK RNG(WF) NIN BRD RDM
Make sure all the blms have thundaja and thunder5, also the corsair must have WF (only need 2 cor though compared to 4-6 CORs of the other strats)
and WF for RNG isnt mandatory, RNG is there mainly for procs.
Key members for this strat are WAR DRK RNG NIN (the proccers), they must have all weapons, temp items and most importantly, know how to play-
1. You have the WHMs drop pt and BRD does troubadour Scherzo in both BLM parties.
2. one COR will do tactician's roll in proccers' PT and warlock ROLL in one BLM pt, the other COR will do warlock/wizard.
3. set 2 BLMs to stun chainspell animation (@ 80% they gotta stop casting spells and focus on that) and
other 2 BLMs to stun 1st WS after chainspell's over.
4. Have one of the proccers pop it, use fanatic's while everyonelse uses their temp items + Parsimony + Elemental seal, make sure fanatic's
is the LAST temp item everyonelse uses.
5. Make sure everyone is spread around in circle around the rift, and not packed togheter.
6. Nuke it like crazy + COR spam WF, proc PT must focus on procs only, assign one BLM to BLM procs, and skip BLM1 procs.
7. Once it chainspells, 2 BLMs should stun by animation with a /p macro giving notice, everyone applies fool's drinks and keeps nuking.
8. By the time fool's wears (that should be around 2:30 into the fight, 30 while u pop temp items + 1min fanatic + 1min fools)
you should get one HQ proc, having all temp items recharged.
9. Finish it and enjoy your Jacaranda logs-
Pros: BLM have high survaivability compared to WARs thx to Manawall, stun and the fact that with 8 BLMs nuking the mob it will roam around.
Fight shouldnt last over 3-4 mins MAX, BLM deals a lot of DMG to it and technically u can even hold the mob by just stunning and kiting around
waiting for an HQ proc to land.
Cons: You need highly skilled proccers with most weapons (i.e. RNG with axe dagger, WAR with polearm scythe etc) and once u found out which proc it is make sure DDs communicate and split the WSs like (war does low scythe's WS and DRK does high ones)
So yeah compared to other strats I found this one easier to realize especially b/c it's easier to find decent BLMs compared to decent WF corsairs.
Here's a parser with the sum up of the dmg, we were able to consistently kill this x12 > x8, won all of em except 1 aborted and 1 semi-wipe due to the lack of procs.
Spoiler: show
Well I've got full set and it gives 1MP/tic per 2 pieces, 2MP/tic per 4 pieces, 2MP/tic per 5 pieces.
BLM/COR burn would work fine but 90% of the BLMs I see have major magic accuracy issues. Remember to use Ascetic's and Braver's Drink and get your skills capped.
Peronally I've changed a few pieces of gear specifically for Rex to reduce resists and it seems to have worked well:
Goetia Chain instead of whichever neck piece you use.
Strophadic Earring instead of Hecate's.
Goetia Mantle instead of Searing Cape.
Cognition Belt instead of Oneiros Sash.
Rex has 137 INT so if you're for example an Elvaan with the usual STR merits, piling on the MAB gear and ignoring INT then I'd imagine it will hurt your damage.
The setup we used to kill Rex was this.

x3COR
x5BLM
x2SMN

Just scherzo/EA the BLM parties and split the parties up and proc > burn it down pretty much. Fool's drink macros and split the two BLM parties up pretty much. Fight it over near mhaura at that vortex so you can split your BLM parties far apart and have the rest of your damage stand away from the BLMs. The scherzo and earthen armor is pretty much just there for the initial chainspell hit so everybody doesn't die right before they get their fool's drinks off. He LOOOOOOOOOVES to be a dick head and use chainspell and meteor at the same time and like kill people so this helps a lot. The strategy isn't fool proof but we did like 8-11 or so when we went to do it. Sometimes triggers are just really shitty. If you can get like 2 red procs in though he goes down fast as hell.
I was watching this guy's MP go up on PLD, 2 pieces was 1/tick, 3 pieces was 1/tick, 4 pieces was 2/tick. I doubt it works differently on different jobs or whatever, so... idk
You are making Rex seem worse than it is manaburned. Have one PLD with enough support, fill the rest of that party with procs up. Have one party completely for procs(obviously with support so they don't die instantly), and the last party with BLMx4 COR WHM. One of the "procs" can be another BLM as well.
The most important thing with this would be to start it slowly. Try to find out as many procs as possible, and save the "easy" HVs such as bash/bard songs/etc. Time those HVs so that you hit one around 80-90%. At that point have your BLM go all out. DD keep trying to proc, without buffs they won't really matter for damage compared to the BLM and are a greater use if they hit another proc or two. If Rex is not below at least 70% after the stagger wears off, this strategy will not work without SMNs and your BLMs suck/you forgot the COR/drinks. If it is below 70%, he will use a TP move every time right after unstagger. This is where one of you stuns, and everyone should be using Fool's immediately. Again, during CS have your BLM go all out.
Enmity Douse after and repeat the same thing but save your HV for 40-30% this time. Works almost every time, only time it doesn't is when you get HV procs you didn't bring obviously.
To be entirely honest PLD is a waste of a spot, and by taking it "slowly" at the beginning, then having to rely on procs I don't think it beats the "manaburn" strat. We seriously kill it in less than 4 mins everytime, unless something goes terribly wrong, and you are always in control of the situation with all the stuns.
How can a single PLD keep hate in order to make it worth taking that spot?
