They have the six armor/weapons and one body abjuration (not sure which) all listed as Glimmering Trove drops, and they have Sanus Ensis, Adamas, and Meteor listed as loot pool drops (straight drops off Provenance Watcher). So yeah, the former (and they don't have Meteor listed as a Trove drop, at least not yet anyway).

The JP wiki I'm looking at lists all the drops in the same place?

People who did it last night got it from glimmering trove. The JP wiki link above makes no distinction to say that anything (specifically) comes from the dragon itself.

Also JP wiki says that fetters are summoned when Provenance Watcher casts a spell, matching the element of the spell he casts.

How do you deal with meteor? Is it stunnable? Slow enough people have time to use fools?

....also it says the fetter appears when the spell resolves...so stunning magic makes the fight easy? My Japanese isnt perfect.

It doesn't do much damage. Or at least, by the time you've triggered several weaknesses, it doesn't do much.

Was thinking the same exact thing. Meteor is almost needed to fully clear legion at this current state and if it drops from the final wave or chamber in legion itself... then someone will have to get lucky and clear legion without meteor 6 times.... People are saying the NMs drop stuff out of the chest pool so yay for bringing THF for TH to the crystal dragon?

Its been a long time since I posted in relation to FFXI, but could this actually be an example of SE deliberately introducing tiered/gated content that cant be beaten without gearing from previous high level content ala WoW and other MMO's?

We didn't know how hard it would be to zerg, based on others accounts, so we brought a RDM for DiaIII. Sort of moot since we ended up having Angon, but I don't think the fight was overly difficult.

As far as stuns stopping fetters, etc. I'm not sure - what we were told by a JP in our ally was that if it has 2x Wings open, stun Graviton Flux, if 4x Wings open, stun all TP moves. I got hit by a Thundaja or something like that for 200dmg in mdt gear, so his spells aren't very potent as the fight goes on.

Why bring a rdm when it no longer has any exlusive procs? Does going from dia 2 to dia 3 really outweigh just bringing another blm/cor/etc?

They are there basically just to help with the blm to split process and cure when needed instead of just getting a whm for the PT that hardly need cures, the other things that a rdm offer is just an extra
You can replace the drg and rdm for other things but we didn't have issues with dealing damage
Same can be said for the NIN too but they still can cover KATANA + /dnc and Ninjustu with others being forced to sub dnc or /nin

Can replace the RDM with SMN for better process chances if you want

I just confirmed that this is true. Did a run with JP's last night and fraps'd it. Each time he casted a elemental spell it popped a fetter. However when it used Addle it did not pop a Fire Fetter.

Yes. It only spawns fetters upon successfully casting elemental magic

Can see how the fetters pop only after elemental casts. He casts addle as his second spell and no fetter is popped. Sry crappy quality :/
