I dont think the ticket system is gonna do fuck all, considering you have to give out the ticket immediately, and they'll be EX. The sheer rarity of bodies as is makes it not worth it. Whats the average drop rate of bodies, presuming capped lights and full alliance? one drop per 15 kills or so? 1/270?

As others have said, one of my biggest beefs with this boils down to the problem of "Who will go back to a VW mob they already have obtained the body from?" Sure, in the rare instance that someone has the body but is missing say, dilaram's---I can see that, but any utility which could come from this is quickly buttfucked by the fact that the tickets are not sellable and that they go into the treasure pool for the whole alliance. Frankly, as far as "making it more LS friendly", the people who are lacking a particular VW body may call others in their linkshell "selfish" for not going back and helping others get a specific body, but as far as I'm concerned--in most cases the dildo who expects everyone else to up and drop everything they are doing to spam an NM just to feed other people tickets are truly the selfish ones here. In most cases, if someone doesn't have a body that they want THAT badly at this point, it is more likely due to a lack of playtime or pure laziness--in which case, even if said individual does manage to get a ticket 1 day, the chances are ballsacks low that said individual will really have a legitimate shot at acquiring two more imo. There are a few RARE instances where I would be fine returning to an event, like people I know who have gone 0/200-400 on a body, and genuinely try. Even then though, you would technically have to have three or more people in the alliance willing to pass tickets specifically to you, in order to "double" your chances of getting a toci's, since said people would have to acquire it 3 times to fulfill your ticket requirement. In the end, most of the people I've already heard QQ'ing about the lack of people who will go back and help are the ones who were too lazy to ever join VW shouts in the first place and feel like such gear should just fall into their lap like when they were spoon-fed events 5+ years ago. /endrage

It makes me lol even more at the thought that these tickets are item specific. So, not only does an individual need 3 tickets, he needs 3 PIL tickets to get toci's. I can understand the issue of "we didn't want people to just spam the easiest mob and then exchange those tickets for coruscantis/etc.", but SE could have at least grouped the tickets into categories such as "City Voidwatch Bodies", "Jeuno Bodies", "Zilart Weapons".

Along those lines, the city, jeuno, and zilart bosses are all a complete joke now. I do agree that it wouldn't exactly be "balanced" to trade in 3 tickets from caelano and get a coruscanti, so in that sense there should be some level of separation, but I am really just echo'ing everyone at this point--silly system is silly.

I think at this point the majority of the people who don't have the items are those very people you say you would be more inclined to help, i.e., people who have gone 200-400+ kills with no luck. I agree that I would be less inclined to help someone who literally refused to touch VW until now (or did like under 50 fights), and just expects to walk right in and get spoon-fed tickets. But that "line" is different for many people. To me, even 100 dropless kills feels utterly excessive, and I'd probably want to help a LS mate who went that many times.

Making the tickets sellable would have refreshed the event some. Its already in huge decline besides PW fights.

Even if we ignored the fact that people generally don't help for the sake of helping, the people SE claims to target are individuals whom have bad hours or missed the rush. In either case, this seems like a group that is not going X/100, but instead, a group that is relatively unfamiliar with the system.

That's with the enfeebling system, not necessarily the drop system. Although I suppose the drop system helps people that were late, in theory at least.

If that is their intended audience, the result appears to be completely opposite. Groups unfamiliar with the system won't be getting duplicates at a high rate. Their members will be getting those items for the first time. More seasoned groups will have a higher percentage of people who have the item and will generate tickets at a higher rate. The helping thing is a separate problem with its own solutions.

Well I know I won't be doing Kaggen just to do Kaggen.

Doing Kaggen 6x as an event once in a blue moon won't be helping anyone.

This system still ignores that accessories have just as bad a drop rate.

They offhandedly admitted that the T6-T2 have better drop rates than T4-T3. Provenance is nice though, it has T3 drop rates. I wait for Spira to call this acceptable.

    Exactly, that's why it's a stupid system.

    LS chat earlier today...

[18:44:46]<Fireciont> out of 42 kaggens i did yesterday
    [18:44:51]<Fireciont> 2 bodies
    [18:45:15]<Nynja> that were announced
[18:45:24]<Nynja> some people like to keep hush hush then go "sry gotta go"
[18:45:39]<Nynja> but going by that, thats WAY too low
[18:45:45]<Nynja> presuming full ally every time
    [18:45:55]<Nynja> (42x18 ) /2
    [18:46:05]<Nynja> 1/468 drop rate
    [18:46:08]<Fireciont> thats vw

How the fuck are tickets gonna help with that? IF tickets were sellable and someone with a body had a chance to sell it for 2-4 mil, I'd see it being worth their time.

Have to figure that by the time you get three fucking body tickets that you can't trade, you'll probably see every other drop. Seriously, I don't see the problem with making these sellable.

Another good point. I have two very close friends who are 0/200+ on the march harp, and 0/150+ on dilaram's. I can only assume there are quite a few others like them.

    I'm at 0/171 for Mala, I went 1/163 on Dilarams, 1/157 Ace's Mail, etc.

Those are actually drops that people get quite often, just not me apparently. 'This' ticket system for those wouldn't be quite as absurd because someone gets one at least every 1/4 fights, if not quite a few more than that.

The best part is how they say stuff like "because we did it this way we were able to set the required number of tickets lower" implying that there's some sort of mathematical formula behind this when we all know it's just Tanaka pulling numbers out of his ass.

    This.

Shit like this reminds me of my high school english teacher who would always say "You want to use a comma in such and such situation". In the back of my head I'm thinking, "No, fuck, I don't //want// to use a comma in this situation. So stop trying to brainwash me."

While English is hardly the most rulebound language, that's kind of a bad example. There is such a thing as proper English, even if most people play fast and loose with it.

While there is such a thing as proper alot of things including things alot english teachers teach are absolute, aren't. Some might be better or in some situations might be better but doesn't make anything else incorrect.

For example once I had one try to convince everyone that it is so improper to speak in anything other than the 3rd person that you wouldn't be taken serious by anyone if you write any other way. When you point out that half the famous essayist he had us reading did in the selections we were supposed to read... well was generally met with a do it and you will get graded down. Same with using contractions. Or colons/semi-colons as any sentence that would require them was most likely a run on or something. God I did so bad in that class lol

Well, they probably figure you can get creative once you know where the baseline is. If they just let you freestyle the English language in school, it'd be even worse now. Plus, if you were to be an actual writer in the media, your articles would be easier to read and flow more smoothly with proper English than fuck-it-I'll-play-by-my-own-rules English.

Consider in art classes, they teach you how to draw or paint, yet those things are a creative act and do not follow precise rules. Nonetheless, knowing the basic techniques can go a long way in helping you become a better artist, even if some of the best artists never needed formal training. Once you know what the rules are supposed to be, then you can get creative and break them.

Post wiped, but there are reasons for those rigid style rules. Passive voice masks the performer and 3rd person makes opinionated speech appear as a series of fact. PM if you want to know why to avoid derail.

Well keep in mind this wasn't a don't do this for my class or particular types of writing, this was a all these things are wrong in the english language period. No matter the circumstance. Which they clearly are not. They were made up rules. Occasionally a good idea that you might want to follow but that's it. And this wasn't for kids this was being taught to a bunch of navy guys
