This is my thinking as well to be honest, though with the discovery of /fume it woudn't surprise me if procs were tied into drops. My ls is currently 2/50 Meteor and 0/50 Arise from PW...

Note that /fume does not reset the white !! proc, and I'm thinking the same mechanic on PW happens when he puts his wings up (same message), so I don't think this holds any water at all. I've certainly never seen two white procs in the same fight. I've seen the white message change, as long as you didn't hit it before the procs change, but I've never seen white get proced and subsequently restored when the aura changes.

What exactly does the phase displacer do (assuming 5x)? Lower their atk/def/eva etc etc? How about their HP?

It won't change it if you've already hit it, but I've seen it shuffle it if you haven't.

What probably happened was somebody was in a group that got a 5 hint and failed to hit it before PW shuffled, at which point a different 5 showed up and zomggggggg

It's really hard to look at my logs and pull this out because PW doesn't give different messages for EV and HQ/NQ procs, but I think I've found one where we double white procced it (Thunder BLM -> Ice BLM) and got Hyaline hat + Meteor. There were 3 EV weaknesses reported that time, though, and I know the one that we didn't hit (GS) was valid because it's in my log.

Hearing some rumours around Bahamut at the moment about Provenance Watcher. Being that theres 2 white procs, one before wings go up and one after. With the point being hitting the first gurantees gear drop and hitting second gurantees a scroll. Anyone else heard about or seen this?

Sounds like a combination of absolute bullshit and things that Square is entirely too inept to properly implement.

Did 2 PWs today. First we had 0 procs and sword dropped with THF. Second we had more procs and proc'd the first white. Mage hat dropped. No TH whatsoever (I forgot to bounty shot...). Doesn't prove anything but figured I'd post just in case this does turn out to be true.

Add. note: I didn't see 2nd white proc personally.

SE once made the statement that Meteor/Arise scroll rates were higher in Legion so how could Watcher have a 100% rate on these drops?

Our group seems to have only gotten scrolls from Prov when white's been proc'd after it's changed and put its wings up. I think our count is 6 meteors and about 3 arises. But yea, we pretty much assume that if white isn't hit under 50% we're not getting a scroll. Might not be correct, but it's just what we've observed.

I'm not suggesting that Square has the best track record when it comes to keeping their word, but they outright said that alignment would have no impact on drops in Provenance. Implementing a drop system based on a major element of the alignment system makes absolutely no sense.

Square has proven that they know next to nothing about mechanics that were put in place before Abyssea, but the occasions when they do something that is blatantly antithetical to an explicit announcement like that are few and far between. Still sounds like a ton of eyeballing and desperate patternseeking.
