Doesn't he gain ton of DEF and evasion? We took it to 75% with shout group I made.. Seemed magic did a lot more.

We Tossed 5 Empys with SV Marche + Chainspell Stun on the Krab. It died alright :3 Hate that stupid behe though
Yes, his evasion and defense is ridiculous. I don't see what your problem is though? Mega Scissors is conal hate reset, position tanks accordingly and you already know that magic damage is the way to go. What else do you need help with, lol? Chainstun is an option, I don't remember if our stunners actually caught Venom Shower in time, but if you're doing it with shouts idfk.
We just used SMN and BLM to pew pew it to death whilst 2 PLD's did their best to hold it steady.
Planning on doing Hahava this weekend. Would something like Ochain Aegis WHM RDM BRD SMN + 3-4 random proc/DD jobs work ok? Or is 2 PLD being overly cautious? We could change the Ochain for an Apoc DRK or the Aegis for something like a Vere MNK.
2 PLD is stable
1 is taking your chances. But if that 1 got both ochain and aegis, then he can do it alone BUT may still die to oshit circumstances
Thanks!
We'll take both then. Unfortunately it isn't 1 character with both Ochain and Aegis, it's 2 people with 1 each.
Pretty much this.
Solo tanked Mr Krabi with Ochain last night and you definitely want another PLD on that tanking it with you. When megascissors(lolhatereset) goes off you're kind of gonna spend a few precious seconds fighting for hate. In this time period its going to be after your back line and it can venom shower or sleepga or silencega and fuck you in the mouth. So yeah, best way to go about this whole fight is to make sure you have a thf in the BLM party to take the hate off your BLMs if they pull hate and to run it back over to the tanks incase they pull hate. Have two PLDs and bring some extra nukes. I wouldn't worry about procing white so much as you could probably do it over the course of a few fights. It just doesn't seem like a fight you want to draw out for too long. Shit seems to just go bad lol.
Could probably throw a few DDs at it to tank it if you had some brd/cor love?
Does it build resistance to stun?
Isn't Venom Shower a hate reset as well? It would immediately turn away from the current tank every time that TP move went off.
We just had Sam + Mnk tank it and work it down, with some blm/smns and proc jobs on it. It can be kind of messy if he's spamming Venom Shower and people aren't watching their range, but it goes down pretty quickly. We didn't find Pld very useful for the Krab.
What do people recommend for Behemoth? Pld? DD tanks? Smns? Blms?
Strategy notes for Behemoth:

You're going to want Paladin Tank(s), or something else that can hold hate without meleeing, and then light hate DDs.
Thank you Byrthnoth. The page confused me a bit: In this thread I read that he only uses Meteor below 50% (or possibly mis-read it). Yet that page makes it seem like he will pretty much always use Thunderbolt -> Meteor.
Does anyone have experience with the damage of each though? Will the ranged DDs be in danger from Thunderbolt -> Meteor with just Shell and being topped off? Or is EA/Scherzo on them recommended?
If it's like every other Behemoth, Thunderbolt has a massive range and Meteor's range is a little smaller. I thought I read that he can use Meteor above 50% HP, but that his Thunderbolt -> Meteor combo was more common at low HP.
Thunderbolt is 30' from Behemoth himself and Meteor is 30' from target I believe. We had everyone pretty close to the mob, EA/Scherzo make this really easy.
Watched another group try it with neither and normal meteor was doing as much as 2.4k damage. DDs should be able to tank it fine, just turn when it uses Accursed Armor and I'd probably say have shadows since I've also seen Wild Horn do over 2k damage.
Two PLD with excal or almace and aegis or ochain + WHM + RDM + BRD + DD (RNG ideal but not necessary). RDM can try stunning but with two tanks stun won't be absolutely necessary.
Edit: with even more gear like daurdabla and/or gjallerhorn you could indefinitely shrink the party even further.
just use 6 smn if you really just want to kill it for title or something. You won't get any good loot with 6 man.
for the sandy path , my ls was able to clear everything with the following set up *note this is not for farming it was just to get to t4*.
8people
1whm
1brd
1cor
1 pld *ochain*
1rdm *constantly changed who was rdm for chainspell stun*
1 monk * vere*
1 sam * masa *
1 war * woe wep*
All nm's went down in about 1-3mins. set up was changed for hahava *was a little rough and close on the 30min kill times*
1war
1 sam
2 whms
1 brd
2plds * 1 ochain main tanked other pld had back up tank but wasn't in melee range or tp range wasn't NEEDED but ochain pld can be killed by him*
2 blms * did the most dmg by far just make sure you watch your hate and aren't near the healers*
side note me and the sam *i was war* were weakend about 60% of the fight due to if you do pull hate he packs your shit in so deep. Won all 3 kills , now that ive seen the note about brd song stopping 1 shots this should help even more.
forgive my terrible mspaint skills but this is were we stood.
*ok thats small but w/e*
just tried Kholo again, and i'm pretty sure Thunderbolt is 40'.
and i definitely agree. if you're 6 man and attempting this, proc shdn't be your main concern. 6smn shd be able to clear most everything.
Was more than 10 and it was pretty messy because we didn't have anyone stun his weakness move.
his weakness move is a joke
he doesnt have anything that can subsequently kill a good PLD with both ochain and aegis, plus tidal wave, brd sentinel, titan armor.
we gave up stunning that shit
cor is the best dedicated DD for hahava XD. he uses fire, but hes weak to fire
