That's disappointing about the Mextli. My LS likes doing the fights and we will continue doing it as an event, but I must say it is strange that SE put in drops that are so job-specific but refuses to add a "add to pool" option. It's rare enough to see a drop, but then you are hoping Mextli pops in a DNC's chest, Ganesha Mask pops in a MNK's chest, Langeleik pops in a BRD's chest, Phineas Gun pops in a RNG/COR's chest, etc etc. Just so sad to spend hours and weeks doing these for a chance within a chance.

Besides the rare/ex stuff, we've been working toward Tefnut Wands, Jingang Greatswords, and the T3 mats. T3 is so much more rewarding than T4....

Agreed 100%. I got a strendu ring the other day and never ever play a mage job for anything worth while. Would have loved the option to drop it in the lot pool.

my wife ID got 3 strendu and i got none -_- she also got the rng/cor gun and ganesha mask....

im just glad mextli fell to my chest but its almost garbage anyway....i want the sterndu ring/cape or voidwrought body for drk....it better not fall to her chest again, or SE pls implement add to pool option zzz

The body pieces have such balls drop rates on them. Our group has yet to see even the synergy mats for any of them, let alone the Sphere versions.

Also, from experience would people agree that 1 of the drops are rare and the other is more common? For example last night Voidwrought was pissing out Strendu Rings (Well not exactly, 4 in 3 pops) but we only saw 1 Mantle, no mats, no body. The same happened with Hahava, plenty of masks, no neckpieces, no mats, no body. It seemed to be the similar on T3's (i.e. if we got multiple of something, it was always the same drop)

Linkshell managed 6 Strendu Rings out of 3 pops with 15 people today, ontop of the 1 ring Taint got yesterday out of 2 pops. Have yet to see any mantles, crafting mats, or bodies out of any pops. Anyone know the drop rate on it?

We got a mextali on our first ever hahava kill. I've gotten both celandro and voidwroughts bodies, and we got one other voidwrought body too.
Helps to have all jobs 90, then you can use all loot and not worry about it! Dunno if you need a +2 hat if they even exist to activate the set bonus. I'm 2/2 on +1 hats, but one guy sold the mage one before I got my body. I'll have to let the guy with the mextali try my +1 hat and see if it works, but he hasn't t been on much.

specials could be avatar specials who knows. Never seen an avatar specials msg. Seen Pet abilitiy, and automaton ws.
seen pup, blm, sam, mnk, pld, dnc, sch, abilities that I can remember off the top of my head. Never seen dragoon or warrior ability msg, is why angon and tomahawk. Only one warrior ever had tomahawks merited, the others simply won't merit it, so we dunno if that's it. I was on pup the other day, and got a pup special which I didn't merit (ventriloquy). Next fight I drop a merit and gain that ability, next 3 battles all had HQ pup ability which I triggered.

A few of us have gotten strendu many times in their chests, like 3x for me personaly. Seems to be pretty common, just can't loot it;; The voidwrought plate crafting item we've gotten 2-3 times. 2 HQ2 bodies, 2 mantles, rings I've lost count, it's the common by far. We've killed it at least 10x now, dunno the exact count.

we been doing VW since launch, 3 times a day every mon, wed and fri. We always have 18 people, except past 2 weeks where we only got 14(2 people with 2 ID each MIA for 2 weeks O_O) We give haha and void priority over belo, ratio of 2:2:1 kills

From what i've seen, we've gotten a lot more guns than anything else on Celaeno (7-9, not 2).

We've gotten at least 2 cloths, maybe 3.

Cause it's not a timesink if everyone gets their gear in a timely manner. This is basically hnm with 1% droprate, but everyone gets a chance at that 1% instead of 1% for one item for the entire group. It's an improvement to hnm style drops, but still a timesink and kind of shitty.

It's 2011, we shouldn't be having content in FFXI that makes jailer torques look like a high drop rate.

Unless they plan on releasing more add-ons with stupid high droprates like Abyssea to entice us to pay $10-30 more for this MMO.

It's essentially not an improvement, because at least the HNM with the 1% droprate is a flat rate to the ally. If you really want to compare this to HNM, you'd have to divide the 1% probability by the probability someone with the job in your ally gets the drop. So it's more like 0.25% or lower. >< (pulling the .25 out of my ass but you get the principle, depends on the # of people you have and their job permutations)

but then again, 90% of those gear sucks anyway....so..........

also just in...JP wiki said tonberry's grudge adds crit rate. Someone posted like 12xx damage from rancor(or grudge, idk actual name but its the one that does lesser damage. Not the insane 12k one lol) gives 5% crit rate

I have over 2.5k damage Grudges right now, but I couldn't test Crit rate last night because I wasn't using RR. Guess I know what I'm doing tonight!

Is its 5% to crit on you when a tonberry casts it, or 5% crit rate for a blue spell?
