Don't need 2-3 tanks that's for sure. Malboro just needs competent stunners for EBB, and EA/Scherzo for tonberry (Tachi says for throat stab but Id say more for everyone's rancor) and watch out for instacast impact although any tank with decent HP should be fine just a couple quick heals.

I am almost certain that what Arthars posted earlier in this thread (or in the Weakness thread, I don't remember which) is true. He suggested that the higher staggers (40% normal, 200% high) happen during or just after a mob TP move. Initially, I was pretty sure it wasn't the case, because we actually stunned a couple of TP moves on Voidwrought with weaknesses which only led to low staggers (20%), but I think Voidwrought was just a fluke (Ironclads are dumb like that). Last night on Celaeno, we were timing our procs and every one that was landed on a spell or TP move resulted in a higher stagger (again, 40% or 200%, vs. 20% or 100%), and this was the case on several runs in the past as well, though we weren't specifically trying to time our staggers prior to last night. Can anyone else confirm (or deny) this?

    Couple things:

1 - Blitz almost definitely has no cap. We got an amazing series of staggers the other night that kept Celaeno frozen from ~80% to below 20% HP and the blitz result was over a 150% increase in alignments.

2 - Confirming that Treasure Hunter calculation is based on the sum of alignment from cells and weakness staggers with the cap at 500% before the effect of any alignment-enhancing periapts. Got 506% alignment with capped blue trading two cells, 7% TH ( (350+100)*1.07 + 25).

Also, further confirmation that proc-ing a stagger while a mob is casting or using a TP move results in the higher alignment bonus for that tier of stagger (40% NQ, 200% HQ). This was a key find, credit to Arthars (note that Voidwrought is still all sorts of fucked up and this doesn't work every time on him, in addition to TH being broken on him).

Any tips for lowman Calaeno? Got it to 20% twice last night with 5 people and 2 WHM mules but it got the better of us the first time. What we're doing will work I think, but it's a bit messy and gives us low ability to proc it.

Edit: third times the charm. RNG BLM SCH RDM THF + 2 WHM mules. Kited, got white to 74% and got atmacite. RNG had Gandiva

Not gonna lie that setup sounds like a nightmare. Come back to Fenrir and I'll tank it for you lol. Seriously though a decent Pld and a decent stunner and the fights not bad at all.

We're 4/4 today and doing another 3 now. It's pretty fun, lol. We're pretty new at this (like...started earlier this week and we have 6 people total) and still shaky on how to raise specific lights. We're trying to get red up as high as we can but the highest we've gotten is 413% :\

Also, do you just eat every TP move or do you stun order? SS/EA thing I've been reading about? What SJ? I leveled and geared PLD again already and am finishing my iron plates tomorrow. Friend is finishing azdaja horns within the week so we'll have 2 ochains reasonably soon.

I have been procing obvious weaknesses, waiting for mob to cast spell or ready a WS, and its always a high tier proc

mob WS-ing is tough since some are fast and some are slow...but procing when mob is casting magic is never gotta fail

note: i said obvious procs like DRK ability, BLM ability etc etc or when u have narrowed down to 1-2 WS left to proc.... magic is alot harder tho due to huge weakness pool to choose from....+ casting time implications

idk what u mean by being shaky....as long you bring more jobs to proc, your gotta get good %s....if your lowmanning, ur more depending on luck....being shaky doesnt cost you anything unless ur not buying all the spells

all the NMs are a joke to kill anyway, its procing weaknesses thats making them long to kill.

Just mean we don't really understand it all yet. Sometimes we blitz and it raises red a ton, sometimes we blitz and it raises blue a ton but red only like 20%. Has that shit been figured out yet? Is it like physical during blitz = red / blue = magic? Etc?

Um I guess I could eat most usually only 1 or 2 moves that each mob has that are better to stun than eat.... ie typhoean rage(sp) shit that makes you weak/muddle/etc. As far as SS/EA is concerned I really only like to have it on a select few. I guess its useful if you do happen to get hit by a weakness move but aside from that the Tonberry is just about the only one that I 'need' it on. Only /war on Pld Ochain took the fights from being somewhat challenging to mostly a joke and proc fest not even sure what we would do if we had two ochains. Maybe with these upcoming fights VW pt2 will require more tanks due to adds. Like Arthars said if you want to be successful in VW (or as successful as one can be.... I still hate the event most days abyssea drop rates spoiled me for life I fear) its all about variety in who you bring. The more procs the better. That last Celeano we did where we blitzed for like 180% or something was ridiculous frozen mob for ~3min.

Edit: I'd assume so you being you and all but getting the temp items KIs is a hugggge plus for VW. If you don't have them (again I'm pretty sure you do) get them.

procing has own % (20 or 40 or 100 or 200) while blitz has own %. Blitz % distribution is always same unless ur capped on certain lights. what u see by "red gaining more than blue" or vice versa is prolly because u proced a weakness, maybe lets say 20% red, and then u gain 4% from blitz across, netting a total of 24% red and 4% blue.

There's some pretty decent info on the wiki page
    https://www.bg-wiki.com/bg/Voidwatch
    concerning procs/blitzing/TH and caps.

Seems like a big over exaggeration. I've been trying to do these with shout groups, some of the groups having some well geared people and it can catch you off guard. I wouldn't say its impossibly extremely hard, but its a bit challenging compared to most of the content out.

it can catch you off guard cos your trying to proc something, leaving you exposed to AOE moves while trying to use totally useless stuffs like frostbite, than trying to actually kill it......

if your shout group has every intend to just to kill it fast, there should be no problems, no?

Right, but we are also trying to proc while doing it. If we want to kill very fast we would just zerg. I don't think its fair to call it a joke tho because its not Abyssea where you can afk swing at it while looking at forums while a mule c5/6 you to max hp and cureskin. You have to actually pay attention.

The problem with shout groups are poor stunners and poor healers that are to lazy to make macros specific for random tanks and stunners and healers are most important thing for most fights. Shout groups usually end up with win for me but it's connected with ~20 reraises.

Shout groups also make it harder due to the fact that people most likely dont have the temp item abbysites that make procing, getting mp back, etc a lot faster and easier.

I'd love to see how people would take to an update that severely nerfs cruor buff/atma potency to something more reasonable. God forbid the majority of the job balance demands are based upon how broken you can make a particular job via a combination of atmas and gear anyway.

This right here. Full group having temps usually means no MP is wasting on DDs who get themselves killed by an AoE or ganked hate for a bit.

Also, Fanatic's Zerg when lights are capped never gets old.

Main thing I find with VW is setting yourself up where the tank can repeatedly eat anything thrown at it so mages and DD are free to feed it TP for the most part trying to get triggers, assuming buffs remain up and stunners deal stuff that may require people to back off for a bit to let tanks recoup on.
