We waited on a single person for like a hr per teir. They were blaming their slowness on being a girl and not being able to navigate. Though i was about to break my laptop in half. Finally we left them and they got mad and left the group.

The problem is that instead of Magians making Voidwatch popular, Voidwatch has a much greater chance of making Magians unpopular. I have been doing my Cassandra routine on the Official Forums about Voidwatch for months now, people just digging in their heels and refusing to accept it. People were spoiled with fun and rewarding content in Abyssea, Voidwatch is more of an old-school FFXI end game where, well things aren't fun and rewarding. Those of us who had their souls crushed by CoP can handle it, I am not sure that the new folk will be able to.

It doesn't help that most large shells were obliterated by Abyssea. There was just no reason to be in a group with a bunch of assholes that you didn't like anymore. I am not sure if Voidwatch is going to be strong enough content to force people to hang out with assholes again.

No doubt less people would be faster, but trying to do VW with 6 is difficult. Goal for us is to get as many people complete T4 access before the patch and waiting on a few people is the price we all pay. Just like the days of getting people dynamis access, CoP ring events or getting people sky at lvl 65. VW brings back the days of teamwork.

Voidwatch is a lot more casual if you look at it from the standpoint where you don't have to worry about a loot distribution system. It is more of a blessing in disguise than anything. This allows you to recruit many many different people from different linkshells. All you have to really worry about is making sure that you have the right people to get your red and blue capped. It took me about a month of going around and finding people interested in doing voidwatch and before I knew it I had a solid group of people. Its just one of those things where you have to think outside the box in order to get the people required. If you are very relaxed on attendance policies and just recruit tons of decent people then you will be fine. Having a full alliance for VW makes things so much easier.

I would rather not do things with different linkshells. I would prefer to put my loot into the pool and call it a day.

kinda agree with what Colenzo said.. with Voidwatch because of the way loot currently works, there really isn't a need to trust the fellow player to the extent that he doesn't run away with your drop. Only thing you need to know is that he can play his job decently well - after all the incentive to win is stronger for everyone since they all have exp/cruor to gain and an almost equal chance of drops (if u dont count cells). Having to recruit a full ally is also beneficial both to the fight and doesn't take away from EXP/cruor/drop gains, so its kinda meant to bring people together in that sense..

strangely enough, this supports the JP community playstyle more than the NA. Whilst the JP community is kinda xenophobic, they typically shout for all sorts of random shit, Salvage, Dynamis and so on. Voidwatch is extremely conducive for shout parties so long as you have the right job setup.

What I seem to notice with NA players is that they really only just trust their friends or those within their LS for events, which makes it less convenient to form large groups for Voidwatch.

Yeah we're doing the same thing with my shell as well. I think the biggest problem is, VW isn't really retard friendly.
In abyssea as long as you had 2 people with more then 3 braincells collectively, you could hammer out a win, and worse case scenario you could toss a brew at it. I think the reason why NA people don't trust outside people I don't think its a loot issue as much as There really isn't much room for error in VW.

Right now VW is deemed as "a bad event" with "terrible loot" so most of the retards aren't interested in doing it. When VW is necessary you're going to see them come crawling from the woodwork trying to get it done (assuming it becomes necessary and worth it to the masses)

I already don't trust anyone, nor do I really care for them. If you've ever started an exp alliance this is the exact reason for my distaste and the outcome that you can expect if the previous statements hold any truth.

So unless they make WoE the new Nyzul (gimp friendly) and VW remains as Salvage (soharrrrd) I can't see the game staying without some overhauls.

I think I've read RMT had nothing to do with the loot pool and they actually just thought it would be a good system lol. Maybe it was to combat us duping items? As if that really ever fucking hurt anything.

I played in endgame before aby, and after 4 years of not being able to win a single dalmatica or get rdm body in dyna-beac.... abyssea came at a time when i was getting tired of the game's lack of reward.

If people can put aside their stupid bullshit and if people are told what to stun and what they should be doing then it usually works out fine. There is the odd exception where people don't know how to read though and cant follow directions, those people tend to not last long anywhere in any linkshell. Aside from that I mean, just go to well known linkshells and see what they're doing and try to get them on board with voidwatch. There are a lot of people interested in doing voidwatch its just that there are not a lot of people forming up groups specifically for it.

The real thing is making sure people know how the monsters work before you pop it. If you have a stunner casting random shit instead of watching for what he needs to stun, stuff can go wrong etc.

Meh, wrote a bunch of shit but your point of view I find to be ignorant. People playing this game suck, people interested or wanting to do VW via shout (and want to do it more than once) right now are more than likely a little bit better than your gimp picture thread aurore/perle retard.

Once/and if VW is made to be a required event for everyone everything you're saying goes completely out the window. I don't want to spend 3 hours before every fight explaining what to do, waiting for people to get stones, get to camp (btw, stage2 has aggro at the rifts) all to fight something that's going to end up in someone missing a stun or not being comfortable enough in stressful situations with the job they are on to perform in said situation.

idc, my LS does VW, but I'm glad that it does and that I'm not at the whim of pink. If we could transfer loot to the pool the event would be great, and that's all anyone is asking for.

I keep saying to the other SH's in my LS that I sincerely hope this happens. Abyssea is such an easy-mode event now that I am hoping against hope that Monday comes and the Heavy Metal Plates for Magian 95's come from Voidwatch, if for any other reason than it will be required to show a degree of teamwork and skill to get your 95 empys. Watch them come from NQ Abyssea mobs though, and you can Cleave your way to 1500 in a couple days.

I think most thought the same about Abyssea back when it first came out and there was no discernment abyssite, 3 lunars, etc. The reward for completing Abyssea and collecting abyssites/atmas along the way, was the ability to lowman the content with ease. IMO, VW will eventually have a similar design, its just that we're still in Part 1 of the 3 they have planned.

Good luck proc'ing red. That's the biggest differentiator - it's not that you can't kill w/ 6 (most people have proven that doable w/ current tiers already) it's that you won't see anything but gold ore for it.

    Part 1 of 4 XD

You don't necessary need to proc red in order to get good drops. It could be 100% and you'll still get a chance of it, just a very low chance, i think.

Good catch. I believe they lumped 3 and 4 in the same release window, which threw me off.

I could see them including a combination of atmacite/abyssites and gear (ala salvage/assault) that in some way makes staggering easier and increases personal/group drop rates.

If you look at the Abyssea concept, they evolved it with each release, introducing new aspects with each installment.

Edit* gear example refers to bonuses included that were only active while doing those events. throw beseiged in while your at it.

Oh no, I agree, more people should be interested in doing voidwatch and I think its pretty retarded that they weren't in the first place. It was something scheduled to be updated over the span of several updates and a lot of people are just "oh well voidwatch sucks blah blah blah nothing good comes from it." When there is stuff that is good that comes from it. I think its even more obnoxious that people keep trying to make this argument that the drop rates are just so fucking bad when in reality the only thing that really has retarded drop rates are the bodies that have sphere effects. I will tell you right now that all the people bitching about poor drop rates have had their opinions skewed towards saying "OH VOIDWATCH IS TERRIBLE" just becase drop rates on bodies are awful.

Voidwatch was made to be done with lots of people and made so some of the less popular jobs are relevant in some sort of way. Voidwatch does a good job in bringing some of the lesser used jobs to light. Voidwatch also encourages people to work together. The content is very accessible, you don't have to sit around and camp something for hours on end and lose claim. All you have to do is get your people and go out there and do it. Sure you might not get something every time BOO FUCKING HOO, THE SWIRLY VORTEX IS GOING TO BE UP AGAIN TO POP IT IN 5 MINUTES OH MAN WHAT AN INCONVENIENCE! AW MAN AWWWWW MANNNNNNNNNNNN!

Drop rates are terrible if the same people get the same items, especially when those people are mules. That's sort of the argument for drop rates, not drop rates themselves. Place in pool=fixed
