Dunno if Pil is broken or not but we're currently fighting him and he's totally invincible. Has both magical and physical shields up, and has for the past 7-8 minutes. Been trying to deal damage assuming it's some kind of stoneskin effect, but it's not dropping and we had to have dealt thousands of damage worth of stuff.

Edit: Had to proc a weakness to get it off. Dumb...

Edit 2: Put shield back up again. Proc'ed weakness again. Dealt damage while staggered, after stagger was over, put shield back up again. And repeat once more. What the fuck is this?

So yeah, Pil's deal below 50% (edit: not just below 50%, but certainly more frequently as his HP drops) is that when he uses Bishop's Gambit he occasionally gains full invincibility which can only be removed by proc'ing a weakness stagger. Oh, and be ready to stun as soon as that stagger wears because he likes to use it again to put the shield back up.

Any change for Pil from test server? As I recall he hit fairly hard through brochain blocks, but his magic was rather weak. I think I remember taking less than 300 from a few different AMI's in MDT set

His magic is weak, even Comet is weak. However, Kaustra rapes. Initial damage is maybe 700-1000, but it's AoE and its like 150/tick DoT. Only uses below 50% that lasts a long time and seemingly can't be removed.

As I said above, the invincibility after Bishop's Gambit was the part we didn't expect, and it can really screw you up since it makes hate difficult to manage until someone procs a weakness (everything does zero). Best to save some weaknesses you know you can hit for when he does this move.

Holy Moly rocked us last night...we had rdm, whm, nin, smn, blm, war, and thf. Thf took care of adds while nin was main tank and rest of us were either hitting weakness or debuff/refreshing crowd. Got really hairy when it charmed nin and some crazy auro poison that wrecked us.

What is better strat for this one ? We got it down to about um 49% maybe lower.

Here were my ability notes, so Bishops Gambit is full invincibility? Or only under 50%? We didn't get it that far and I recall magic still doing damage

Bishops Gambit - Heals Pil and grants him a Physical Shield
Shah Mat - Terror + Doom gaze ++ Magical Shield
Flank Opening - AoE 1kish damage + DEF down aura (May open it back up to all damage forms? speculation)
Malign Invocation - Amnesia (not 100%? didnt hit me) same as regular move

Also assuming I didn't get hit because I blocked it, but I was still fresh on the brochain at that time

JP wiki reports Dilaram's Sollerets as the last drop from Pil. Anyone can confirm?

Also, for some strange reason Moon Amulet is listed as a drop from Akvan too (its already a lv50 drop from Shadow Eye), which is totally weird. Can anyone confirm this?

and lastly Strophadic Earring, supposed to be from Aello. Its kinda odd they haven't gotten any drops from Zilart T2s listed at all tho..

edit: for the Neith's Bobbin thing, maybe I'm to blame cos when I first scouted i coulda sworn i saw only 4 of them... but when you die immediately after they pop and they clusterfuck its hard to tell. Its probably 5.

Sollerets confirmation is seven posts up. I can confirm that several people got Moon Amulet when we killed Akvan as well.

We've fought this a few times and noted he was resisting stun quite a bit even w/ Ascetics, was this happening to you guys or were we unlucky?

Also what damage did you bring to this and how much time did you have left on the kill?

First kill we had about 10 minutes left, second kill we had about 2 minutes left. Timed out once due to inability to proc weakness efficiently (had him invincible for over 7 minutes straight on that attempt). He certainly builds resistance to stun, like any other higher tier Voidwalkers mob. I think the most effective method of killing him is to sit on procs that you know you can hit and make sure you have a way to get those procs hit. For example, if you get a specific weapon message that you know you can hit a WS proc for, make sure you have enough TP wings/regain to get that proc off. I'd certainly sit on any easy JA procs that you get messages for. This way you can get that shield off right away. The shield can happen even over 50%, but it's rarer then. Shah Mat is not magical shield, it's just a temporary doom/terror gaze. Likewise, Bishop's Gambit itself is not physical shield - it just cures him for like 2200 and removes his debuffs. However, he occasionally puts up a shield right after gambit which makes him totally invulnerable to damage (below 50%, and certainly below 25%, the shield comes up almost every time).

As far as stunning goes, make sure your dark magic is capped at 95 (it does make a difference, I think it's like a 35 skill spread from 90 to 95?), and make sure your stunners are wearing full accuracy gear, Jupiter's Staff, (magians accuracy staff if you're crazy like that), etc. Need a good dark magic/accuracy set, not just whatever random gear you were wearing, and yeah definitely keep up Ascetic's Tonic if you can. I was on SCH last night, and I had little problem stunning, even after other people started to build resist (use Alacrity/Klimaform with Thunderstorm if you start running into major accuracy problems). Random jobs with BLM sub (WHM, even RDM) will definitely run into problems stunning rather quickly, though. All that being said, you will definitely have a few stuns resisted, and he'll certainly get the shield up at least a couple of times per fight. Just make sure you have known weaknesses ready to proc when that shield does go up. Frankly, if you know you have a weakness proc that you're sitting on, I think you're better off just letting him get the shield up sometimes and save the stun for Kaustra, since that almost always kills everyone it hits from the DoT if not from the initial damage.

Really, a better strat would be more people. I'm not saying you need 18, but 7 is really low. I'm also not saying you can't win with 7, but I don't think you could guarantee yourself a win with that setup of 7. If you have people with some hate sitting on the sidelines ready to take hate when it uses Soothing Aroma, you won't have a problem. Voidwatch in general is all about having a lot of people, and this is amplified in the Zilart Voidwatch since everything has adds. You could probably get through most of Jeuno T1 and some of Jeuno T2 with 6-8 people, but Zilart's a different story because of adds. If you're really planning on low-manning, you need a strong tank (i.e. a PLD with Ochain or Aegis). Even with that, this fight would be made difficult without at least one back-up because of the charm and adds.

did neith last night after the starting spawns when she does a tp move it can change from 1-5 even at low hp we was still only getting 2 popping

Same. It's a trash drop. Think rafflesia vine from Holy Moly, etc. Just some mob-specific trash drop. I thought it was funny how on the JP wiki it was the only item on the list for Akvan drops at some point yesterday, lol.

Zilart drops pouches and singles. Asapanda in my LS got 12 yesterday (1 pouch, 4 singles) while finishing the Zilart VW line.

Speaking of Pil's doom, did anyone ever actually die from that? I got down to ~2 once but every time it wore on its own, might wear if he turns to face someone else.
