I'm sure this is just what everyone wanted to hear - someone in my LS confirmed a new low on the heavy metal pouches (3 plates). Hopefully it goes all the way down to 1, that would be great!! (Also found a new high of 15, previous confirmed high was 14)

whats the secret to Pil, fucker keeps killing all dd's with malign invocation. the atmacite is shit so gonna try either a straight zerg, or a smn spam with 7+ smns...

I have a hard time thinking many have beaten this....

Low number of melee DD (ie, PLD + 1 other) in at a time, bulk of your damage from cor, rng(ideally /cor with a qd set) and blm. 3WHM minimum, and have a rdm, sch etc as procs require to support them as well.

Cannot understate how important quickdraw is on this fight, 3-4 cor or /cor is probably the minimum to make it possible.

We did it with no CORs. Just sit on weakness procs that you know you have until the shield comes up and use them quickly when it does. Bishop's Gambit is also stunnable by someone who knows how to stun, so you can take advantage of that as well until he builds resistance to stun. COR (or Twilight Scythe) will certainly make it go faster, though. And it sounds like one type of damage randomly goes through the shield, so maybe it's not total invincibility. If anyone is planning on trying this some time soon, I suggest you try different kinds of damage and see what goes through (blunt, piercing, slashing, different elements, etc.).

All that being said, COR would certainly help, though, for Quick Draw to get through those shields quickly.

Why I'm some times not expending a voidstone on a VW NM, even if I actually open the chest, and get items from it? Just happened me while I was helping a climbing alliance with Celaeno. I traded cells, we defeat it, open chest, get exp/cruor and 3 pieces of junk... And notice my title didn't change. Stranged by that, I go and check my voidstone stock and I'm still with 4!

I'm pretty sure this has happened to me before, but this is the first time I've noticed so clearly.


Does anyone has an explanation?

Did you lose the last fight from the prior run or something? Stones consumed for a failed fight still remain saved until the next time you open a chest (as do your traded cells). Well, unless you were the one who initiated a fight, to which you'd consume another stone for doing just that act.

Bishop's Gambit leaves one weakness between: magic, slashing, melee piercing, ranged attacks, h2h, impact (non-h2h blunt). We found out because it was on JP wiki, though google translate completely fails with Japanese.

I hate Pil and his shield being back up before you can say "shield is down" half the time, and another 25% being within 15 seconds of saying that. Statistics completely made up on the spot. Good thing Akvan has the good drops, and is the easiest of the T3s.

So I've been having some issue with my stone stock. Story is: I have 2 chars I started vw at the same time, so stone stock is obviously the same. However, I always check the rift to initiate fight, and someone my stones keep getting used up faster than my mage char.

Today while doing belphoebe, melee one ran out when I attempted a 3rd run, whereas my mage char still have 2 voidstone left. So what's the problem? Also, both have access to the same stratum tiers.

Random, but just throwing this out there for anyone who might happen to fall into this category:

I never finished ZM all the way through because I was lazy when I restarted the game, and it affected my ability to get my Ashen Stratum Abyssite upgraded. I determined you have to be completely done with the ZM line before Gilgamesh will talk to you about anything else when doing the Zilart VW path.

G/F never finished The Celestial Nexus and was able to do Zilart VW with no issues.

They sound pretty accurate to what my LS got thrown at us. The guy is squishy (zerged 50% within 4min of lucky procs), but then he had to go and say "No." and fuck us with back2back2back2back shields, a couple of which, as you said, he puts it up right after it goes down.
Shit should have been on set intervals like 10% HP or something so there's at least a finite amount of bumfuckery. We ended up timing out with him at 35% after taking out what felt like 16 shields. Half the fight was him just sitting there with shield up spamming Flank. The weakness idea sounds about correct from what we've seen.

If this fight was one hour with that gimmick it would be a lot more feasible without relying on COR army since QD is ranged and is a safe answer to DDs getting hit for 1k+ dmg trying to test out the shield's weakness.

Hmm. Maybe it's just that mission then. I was on zm 15 (the one right before Nexus) and he still wouldn't give it to me, so I just assumed 16 fell into that as well.

Do you have no rangers whatsoever? If you've got the procs, pretty much every VW NM can be killed with 1 RNG.

You definitely need sky access because the HotG port throws you on the Ro'Maeve side. Funny thing, though, I swear that at some point they said the only qualification was an Adventurer's Certificate (which you get from rank 3, I think?) and you can't even start ZM until you get rank 6....

Originally to start the first tier of voidwatch you only need adventurer's certificate which is indeed rank 3

Yeah, but the Zilart VW is unrelated to the previous VW. Also, here's the info straight from the update notes:
