Quick question...in VW, if you hit a proc, it'll go guaranteed right? Theres no times you'll do the spell/ws thats the weakness but not have it trigger?
Edited over from DROP THREAD where i mistakenly put this:
So, My Linkshell seems to believe that Treasure Hunter may effect more than just Lights. That it may actually effect drops in the end. Has anyone tested this Thoroughly? If Not, I"ll be compiling the results myself over the next couple months. Hopefully I can keep going THF and what now.
Basically, Curious if anyone has already done extensive tests on this and proved it BS? I've gotten TH up to 9~10 on a couple fights and noticed instead of the normal 1-2 People getting drops, Sometimes 4-5 People would get "something" (A drop of any kind, the common or not).
Of course, Small sample size, Random is Random I'll keep testing. Any excuse to give THF A real use in voidwatch.
WS apparently won't proc if the first hit doesn't land
Love the lootpool in this event, person never did jeuno path before tonight, first two fights on Akvan, they get 2 Bodies
thanks SE for the lack of loot distribution

salmi may be looking for a new linkshell fyi
seconds after that pic, my pearl was broken!
/em hides in fear
As much as being random is annoying, its better then having to go back big LS systems where who has the most points, gets the most gear IE: LS leaders and sacks.
Don't join those types of shells?
It would be much better if Rare/Ex drops were dropped into a pool and could be sorted out, sure it would cause some drama, sure it would make PUG's a bigger challenge to run, but I'd rather lose 10 lots to somebody before getting my low drop rate item than see mules and people who can't wear or already have continue to get the same thing.
Shit, even the option before you start the fight: Boxes or Treasure Pool
PUGs and LS's rejoice.
Only system someone said that I agreed with is getting "points" for each time you clear then trading in the points to get the item you want.
The game has to small of a player base to go back to the big shell system we had for years. Also, with the limited amount of people, we would be back to where we were before, having to stay in an unfavorable shell in order to hopefully get what you want eventually.
It could just be my server, but most "LS based Voidwatch" groups arent even that good and have had much better success through other means.
OK, I just had a wacky thought. When an armor or weapon loads into someone's personal loot pool, it does a check. First it checks to see if the person has any of the jobs that can equip it over level 70, then it checks to see if the person has this item already. If the person isn't even close to equipping the item or has it already, the item jumps over into another person's loot pool and it performs these checks again. It keeps doing this until it goes to someone it might actually find the item useful.
You're welcome.
Sounds like add to pool but more complicated. We know those people at SE don't like having to write code and all.
I think the bolded part would be more than enough. In LS when ppl will hold the items then finally everyone will get it including ppl that want. In PUG is doesn't really matter but would still be an improvement also.
I dont think you guys see a reason it is not changed tho. It's not about devs laziness not about justice or anything like that. It's made this way to make us keep doing it and give them more time to make new content. I wouldnt be surprised if they will magically add something like in bolded part when new content will be introduced.
As for TH affecting drops other than lights, we rarely have a thf in ally (maybe once every 80 fights). Collectively we have gotten just about every drop cept 2 HQ weapons. We have an average of 15 characters per run and do 4 of each fight we are at. Out of the 60~ chests we consistently net 0-1 Super Rare item (HQ bodies, NQ weapon, HQ weapon), 3-4 rare items (metal pouch, rare non body/weapon drops), and 12-16 lesser rare items. We haven't noticed any significant increase when we do have a thf in the ally. Just make sure you trade those cells and max all lights.
We are 0/40+ runs of 12+ ppl on any body of t4 city NMs all w/o thf.
Basically if not community I wouldnt know that bodys exist because i never seen anyone get one lol.
Not that I particularly think being THF would be enjoyable at VW, would be cool if TH did affect drops somehow.
I think it's safe to say the body drop rate is something on the order of 2-4% for a full alliance. My linkshell has done somewhere upwards of 150 city T4s and Jeuno T3s (stopped keeping count), and we got a total of five rare/ex bodies off T4 NMs. Combine this with the fact that it loads into a personal crate exclusive to each person and you're looking at something like 0.1-0.2% chance per person per fight. 1/1000 ftw.
I won't say I'm positive, because I haven't tested enough to really know, but I can make an educated guess that TH has no direct impact on drops. It does, however, increase the lights, which have an impact on drops. So I'm not really sure what else you're expecting - TH has never affected drops that don't directly come from a mob. If you used two cells instead of three, you'd see the impact TH has on red and blue lights. It can't push the lights over 500% (525% blue with the periapt), so if you traded three cells and capped light during the fight, it won't impact blue and red. However, for the same reason, it always impacts yellow and green since those never come anywhere near 500%. That's why you see numbers in the high 240s for yellow/green instead of 237% (with periapts) when you have TH in the group.
