I did it with JPs last night, 3/4 wins on one run and 4/4 on the other. 2 Aegis PLDs spread apart tanking; save white proc for ~10-12%, have a few relic/empyrean COR or RNGs because Coronach/Namas/Wildfire were tearing it up and for so little hate gain. Toss Fool's Drink up when it chainspells and use that time to rape it. It honestly wasn't that difficult; even as a PLD, hate reset is merely annoying, it just requires extra work ;( The other thing I noticed they did it kind of spread out their staggers so they weren't triggered all at once; saving HQs that were somewhat easy to do when they needed them, etc.

We pretty much did this today, but hate reset keeps getting random people killed at times because hes just a fucking bad ass... -_- I think we will go again tomorrow and just take 6 summoners and say fuck it and hope for white from magic staggers. Got it down to like 40% and it was just like NOPE. lol

Once you kill the 3 in the past and get the CS on the Flux in Pash you seem to be done for this update storywise.

Anyone know what causes Lancing Lamorak to gain shadows? Fought him a few times and from what I can tell he just has a permanent blink effect and it's a crapshoot whether a spell/attack lands or not.

We've found that diaga is your melee's best friend.

Far too many times I'd diaga then try to land my trigger spell immediately after only to see it absorbed. Guess it was just bad timing.

Finally killed Botulus Rex twice in a row, had like 5 cors, 3 blms with stun rotation for each tp move, 1 aegis pld (me) and a smn to do earthen armor on cors. But i think we killed it because we were lucky on proc's, had like sword/scythe HQ, nin spells, cor abilities, HQ pld abilities etc.. all the proc we were able to land fast in fact. 10min~ fight iirc.

When Rex hit you from its side, its hit has a knock back effect and from behind it's stun.

(And about iga-Alima, it can also cast dread spikes at low hp)

I had a similar idea, scherzo/eathen your Taru Cors for tanking. I mean... even normal hits from Rex seem to do 900-1k dmg. It´s so silly, it just could work.

I was just thinking of taking like 6 summoners and 3 BLMs and all the magic triggers and hoping for the best. Also, how many fights did you do? Just the two or wat?

Since the update, like 30~ but only did 5 runs with this setup yesterday and won the 2 last. For the firsts runs, the smn wasnt doing earthen armor and we were unlucky with proc (bst, pup, drg wyvern etc).

If you can have 3 or 4 HQ proc (!! red) + chainspell mode, with 4~5 cors you can easily drop it to 20%, maybe more. When DDs are out of fanatic's, they can go in melee range to proc when Rex chainspell. BLMs stun rotation for each tp move help a lot too.

Any spell or TP move he uses will result in him putting shadows up, if you Diaga once after those you are fine till the next one.

From what I've seen Wildfire maybe but Namas was terrible on it. Expect Coronach probably has similar results.

Yeah even though I have Yoichi I may have to suck it up and do Armageddon. Was considering doing Walk of Echoes version but it will probably take 10x as long as doing full empyrean.

Another thing on Rex:

You can actually use his chainspell phase to your advantage. Once he chainspells you spam <calls>, stun some and have everyone use their fools only for that moment. Since he won´t do anything else but cast, you have perfect freedom to do a lot of damage during those seconds. If you manage to pull the stunt off twice without CORs double weak, rex should be dead.
