Why spend so much? Get a couple more mp back with siphon?
I'unno... Just one a those things people obsess over... Kinda like the same reason why everyone else has been spending so much just to get that that extra bit of Crit Hit, Dual Wield, Cure Potency, Magic Def, Fast Cast, Haste... Kinda the whole purpose of the entire thread and why everyone else is out here. At least that's how I see it...
BTW, Sargent, I got 71 Hadean Tatters I can toss over into the test server. I just gotta figure out how to import them over. Haven't been on test server in a while.
Skill lets you increase your buff BP durations and Elemental Siphon. The best is the best.
This is true, none of the Magian staves increase skill or Siphon. The only skill staves are Bahamut's Staff with 5 and Soulscourge with 7. But yeah, as far as an example for blood pact duration, I clocked my Fleet Wind lasting bit over 5 min now.
Oh I thought buffs already capped duration fairly easily. So yeah a couple of mp back from Siphon didn't seem really worth 5 mil compared to spending lots of haste. From a perspective of returns vs cost.
The old BPs (like Hastega) cap duration pretty early, I think, but the new buff BPs have no known cap.
Whether or not it's worth it is pretty opinion-based. 5mil for a few extra seconds of buff and 7-8 MP from Siphon may seem like a bad exchange, but compare it to spending gil on Nirvana. Nirvana is 8.6mil and a pain in the ass per MAB (300mil/35 MAB) at the moment, and you have nothing until you're totally over all the annoyances. It's still considered one of the better Mythics. At least this way he has spent 5 mil and has a measurable improvement to his character.
Well Nirvana at least saves you from making 8 smn staffs /wrist.... and solves the same name problem. And yeah didn't know the new buffs weren't capping easy like the old ones. Yeah I'd spring for increased buff duration though. Especially these new smn buffs...
Not just buffs, skill over cap also affects Magic Accuracy, which is great for debuffs. Although whether or not there's a hard cap to that I don't know.
Don't forget to mention Avatar's Favor.
ITT: Bitching about augments on BG gets you good augments. Bitch and ye shall recieve.

The value ranges in the first post on this thread are probably more accurate than the ones in the item-specific pages on BG Wiki. All of that info was entered individually based on the info in the first post of this thread. Usually when I go back to update, I'm only updating this thread, since I'm updating a few items at once and it's a pain in the ass to do it on the wiki since the NQ and HQ items are separated, etc. That being said, it's not easy to differentiate the ranges of augments on NQ/HQ armor based on the post in this thread. I think in general, you should just assume the maximum value in the range is only on HQ armor, subtract one for NQ (except where otherwise noted).
Oh I didn't mean just the ranges. If you go to the page info itself it sometimes has 2-7 different common augments lol
