I farmed for the new grip in Kuftal for 4 hours and finally capped my Box Prowess at like 8am yesterday... went to AFK at the zone line so I could come back the next day and took a step too far >.< fml

any idea how prowesses of party members affect chests? sadly my whm mule has chest discovery 3 and I have chest discovery 1, I've tried pulling mobs with WHM and getting killshot with WHM but the times I do I think maybe once did I get a brown chest. The rare times I even get a chest at all from this method it seems to contribute to more blue chests

also does tractor spell make you lose prowesses?

On the basis that Tractor counts as zoning, I wouldnt risk it. Try it out after completing one page and see what happens, but my moneys on losing buffs.

I would not, as a general matter, pin any hopes on Casket Prowess.

Increased Prowess seems to increase the odds a chest will spawn after a kill, but there's some limit that's separate from it.

Like, I think that any individual casket can potentially only spawn once every X minutes, and there are only so many of them. I always seem to get better caskets/kill when I start than after I've been going a while, etc.

Does the level of the mobs matter at all in relation to the type or quality of items you get from gold? I started getting different/better "junk" from the gold in Kuftal when I switched to the new high level tiger/worms they added. I don't know if maybe I was getting unlucky before I switched to these? They take way longer to kill than the crabs. Hoping I can just move back to those and still have a shot at getting Wizzan grip.

I doubt it, I've gotten things like x-potions and pro-ethers from ding bats while farming the prouesse ring, though at first I thought that way too. I think it's just random.

I think best bet for farming these is waiting for outland treasure casket kupower to load up then spending time out there to farm these new stuff. I just went nearly 20 hours in cauldron (no torque) and I have enough fire crystals to level 2 mule's smithing sub to 60.

I recently got Liminus Earring after 20 hrs of farming in gustav tunnel. Got it from killing the low lvl mobs near Bune spawn. Dropped from a Labyrinth Lizard chest. Question I had was does the earring/ex items only drop from harder lvl chests? I got Prousse Ring and Liminus Earring from both 5 guess chests that had rediculously bad clues (got them both on luck, 10% chance around to get the correct number). Just wondering if easy chests or 6 guess chests can drop the item also. Anyone have any proof that drop is truely random from any type of chest to disprove this theory? Been here 30+ hrs in Sky and not a single damn Terminus Earring. Overall my chest open rate is 60%. Have had over 300 brown chests. I've been getting constantly bad clues and around a 20% opening rate on the chests with those clues. I seem to always guess wrong.

I honestly gave up on that earring in sky, never had anything more ragequit inducing. Had 18 wrong guesses in a row, after aperiod of 1.5 hours after logging in and no brown chests at all.

This was after logging back in with all prowesses capped, I'm pretty sure duration of time in zone affects something, I logged out in case of random MPK and logging in at home point. I was there from Tuesday night to Saturday afternoon before and after work/school and never saw the earring.

Part of me wishes the wrong guesses still showed you what was inside

No you don't. You know that if you fail that it will always always always be the unique item for the zone with a stack of Heavy Metal Pouches, a 10,000 Dynamis Currency piece, an ice cream cone, and a pony. I think after 5 chests, wrists would be slit. At least not knowing you can rationalize to yourself that it was a Potion +1 and a Willow Log. (And chances are that you wouldn't be wrong.)
