This isn't even that hard. You want hard? Try getting a damn tiara in Ro'Maeve, now THAT's a shitty chest rate.

Zeruhn mines I was averaging a chest every 5-6 kills, Ro'Meave? After all my soloing I think I've seen like, 3? Total? One of which had my tiara, so I got lucky.

I think i've let 3 of those Tiara's disappear just from doing pages (I own 1) back in the day. The drop rate on chests there is at least acceptable with Mystery boxes. It sucks, a lot, But so does new boxes

With Mystery Boxes now it doesn't even feel like theres any difference, let alone the "Prowess". Kinda sucks.

Either way, I think this all falls down basically to "Dumb luck is the only thing involved" which in itself is the problem. You either get 0/40 or 1/1 its the random stupid low rate that is making people crazy.

Also its gets mind-numbing over time, also where frustration comes from lol. I gave up on getting the Outer-Horutoto Ruins one...

Lucky you. In the 8 hours or so I spent in Zeruhn the other night, I maybe saw 8 brown chests. The zone can't really support more than 10 people, let alone the 20+ I've been seeing when searching remotely. I never did get the ring on my first foray, and am not at all in the mood putting up with the same crap when I know people will just leave blues laying around to fuck up the available dats.

Level you're NPC while doing it and find a trial that matches up with a mob you can target. Boom you go from oh my gawd what a waste of time to hey, I finished half a trial for my weapon and got 3 levels on my NPC, yay!

Once I hit lv5 casket discovery, they came fairly frequently.

Chest rate may suck, and the rate at which they actually contain the ring may suck, but it's something you don't need to get more than once. Keep those pages rolling, keep your claim/kill speed up, and hope to get lucky.

Worth noting: I got a Heat Capacitor in Bostaunieux Oubliette brown box. Also tons of Errant hats and cuffs, orichalcum ore, gold ore, gold thread, gold beastcoins, Hi-Reraisers, Pro-Ether +3s... Not sure what the "rare" item is yet, but hopefully it's not the heat capacitor lol

If you haven't figured it out yet, you can use scrolls to cap your NPC out for each level (they stop being offered when you cap) and blitz up even faster. Mine is 77 and I've only done ~3 pearls.

Was leveling them up in Outer Horutoto trying to get the rare item there (still havent). I have like 200k Fellow points, I'll probably blitz it up that way (just finished putting her in the outfit i wanted)

Yeah... I spent all my points going from 70->71 and used 3 pearls to get it to 76, then I had 180k points to blitz it to 77. I'm working on CN right now. I get about 20k/hr pre-band pre-book in the basement. It would be a really solid camp if there was a damned book anywhere near the mobs.

Yeah, before I gave up GoVing since running back to the book sucked, I was maybe like level 2 crystals, skill up, 1 hp, then some other misc useless shit that wasn't casket buffs. It'd be one thing if we got ALL buffs randomly on completion, but a random one at a time sucks when it takes 15-20m to a page when people won't party and mobs are sparse.

Lv5 Casket Discovery out of a total of probably ~30 prowess bonuses, so a fair amount of luck. Probably about 12-14 total hours I think, I wasn't counting at the time. I doubt I'm too far from the average experience; the people who get it quickly aren't going to be the ones bitching about the drop rate on a forum.

I ended up with something like 5 casket, ~11 acc/att, ~7 m.acc/m.att, 2-5 on everything else. Signet wore off a few minutes before I got the skillup ring, so I was there for about 15 hours, including some AFK time

Id prefer it if you could select what prowess you wanted every 2-3 kills.
