Way I did it was to team-up with everyone in the zone (like, everyone, capped alliance) and everyone works together on their prowesses. If you claim that mob, the subsequent chest is yours. In 8 hours there was ONE instance where 2 people argued over who the chest belonged to, so they randomed and the winner for a Pro-Ether ^.^

Got Lv5 Chest in about 2 hours this way, as well as a plethora of other shit. Seriously, teaming up to farm Prowesses is the way to go, but I also agree that the idiots who leave blue chests up or don't empty brown chests seriously skew other people and themselves. Already for that temp item, toss it. Don't need that Elixer, get it and toss it, or better still, use it.

Ok I've been camping this ring for 3 days and 100% of all Brown Chest's Iv'e gotten have been locked(Probably 25-30 chests). Have I just been unlucky? I thought only 20% of brown chests are supposed to be locked? It's like impossible to open half of the chests due to lame clues/hints. Kupopower Bastok isn't active yet because the tablets haven't been found.

All brown chests are always locked. Chests are super easy in Z mines cause you have 5-6 guesses, if you're smart with deducing (this doesn't always mean spam 4-5 hints) then you can open most of them. I got 100+ chests (never saw a fucking ring) and opened about 70-80% of them, the remaining just being bad luck on 50-50 eliminations.

I've never, ever seen or heard of a non-locked brown chest. Maybe it's talking about ratio of blue to brown chests.

Locked = brown. Unlocked = blue. Thus 20-40% of chests are brown, depending on Kupower. Blue chests give temp items, so no lock is needed. Brown chests are permanent items, so they're locked so people don't just sell everything from all of them.

All of the chests I've gotten so far have been 5-6 guessers. I have seen no evidence that the Super Kupower applies to GoV zones, but I could easily be mistaken.

Dunno if it necessarily means that all of the Kupowers bonuses apply, but the Swift Shoes enhancement is active in Gusgen Mines.

We know that Treasure Casket Kupowers are zone specific because there are different versions of "Mystery Boxes." Windurst, Bastok, etc. It seems entirely within the realm of SE-possibilities to forget to add new areas to the list of enhanced zones for the respective Kupower types.

We know that Treasure Casket Kupowers are zone specific because there are different versions of "Mystery Boxes." Windurst, Bastok, etc. It seems entirely within the realm of SE-possibilities to forget to add new areas to the list of enhanced zones for the respective Kupower types.

I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be intentional; the focus on utility in the new rare/ex items leads me to believe we aren't supposed to want them as badly as we clearly do.

That being said, Zeruhn would still be pretty packed even without the ring because the opportunities for powerleveling friends down there now are pretty unreal for non-abyssea; even abyssea would take a little while to pull ahead for a duo of PLer/leech.

Level 1 Weaponskill damage... maybe looks like +2%?

Random Tip with Gold Boxes - since a lot of people suck at this...

Some times you'll get lucky with the hints:

1: Combination is between 25-46
2: First Digit is odd.
3: One of the digits is 1.

Others you just want to narrow it down as best you can.

If you find the possible combinations are: 31 33 35 37 39... and you have three guesses left, pick 33... if that's wrong and the number is lower - then obviously pick 31. If it's higher, pick 37 next... even if it's not 37... the hint will tell you which to pick next out of 35 and 39. Shocking how many people can't figure that out.

Assuming your get these hints:

Hint 1: The second digit is odd.
Hint 2: The second digit is either 4, 5 or 6.

15, 25, 35, 45, 55, 65, 75, 85, 95

If you only have two guesses left, it's kinda a crap shoot. If you have three guesses left, I'd pick 45 first. If it's lower, you can pick 25 and either win, or get the right answer on your last guess. If it's higher, anything besides 55 or 95 is a smart guess. 65 and 85, if wrong, have a 25% chance to give you a 100% answer... 75, if wrong, gives you a 50/50 chance.

You could take another hint and hope for "The first digit is 3, 4 or 5" - but there's a good chance you'll get hosed with "One of the digits is 5" - something you already know.

Seems like Mystery Boxes doesn't work in the Mines. Got 2 Brown chests in 60 mobs with level 0 Prowess in caskets. Or is it signet only, cuz mine wore hours ago.

Theres a "Prowess" that increases chest spawn.

But theres also like 10 other Prowesses and you can only gain/upgrade one per page.
