    May 13th Version Update Details
    The following adjustments / additions are planned for the additional version update scheduled to take place on May 13, 2011.


    Some changes that have already been announced require a client-side update or more development/testing time. These will be implemented in a separate version update scheduled for next week.


    Battle-related
    The method that certain monsters use to detect players in the following areas will be changed.
    Bostaunieux Oubliette / Toraimarai Canal / King Ranperre's Tomb / Dangruf Wadi / Ordelle's Caves / Outer Horutoto Ruins / Gusgen Mines / Crawlers' Nest / Maze of Shakhrami / Garlaige Citadel / Fei'Yin
    * The following zones were removed: Ranguemont Pass, Zeruhn Mines, Inner Horutoto Ruins, and Eldieme Necropolis (changes made on May 12, 2011)

    • The following adjustment will be made to Grounds of Valor.
    Placement of target monsters for certain regimes that take place in The Eldieme Necropolis will be adjusted.
    • The following adjustments will be made to the puppetmaster job.
    Automaton attachments will be adjusted as follows:
    Power Cooler
    It will reduce the MP cost even if there are no Ice Maneuvers in effect.
    Galvanizer
    It will increase the chance of countering even if there are no Thunder Maneuvers in effect.
    The following adjustments will be made to the new weapon skills that were added. In addition, we will address an issue wherein weapon skill damage was not calculated properly.
    String Shredder
    Damage will be increased and status bonuses added.
    Armor Shatterer
    Damage will be increased and status bonuses added.
    Skillchain element will be changed from Fragmentation / Scission to Fusion / Impaction.
    Empyrean upgrade items will be made obtainable from certain notorious monsters.
    Empyrean upgrade items can now be obtained from certain notorious monsters.

    Item-related
    • More new linkshells will be made available for purchase.

    Miscellaneous Fixes
    An issue wherein the skillchain effect of the Inhibitor attachment did not work properly with the String Shredder and Armor Shatterer weapon skills, causing the automaton to go into standby mode, will be addressed.
    An issue wherein the damage of the blood pacts Crescent Fang, Mountain Buster, and Tail Whip was higher than intended will be addressed.
    An issue wherein aptants and pigments could be used in synergy with aperture-etched equipment, causing the apertures to be erased, will be addressed.


    *The planned change to stop the "Heat Capacitor" attachment from erasing all Fire Maneuver effects will be postponed to a future update.
    *The Automaton weapon skill "Armor Shatterer" will also increase accuracy along with damage and status bonus.
    *The planned measures to reduce congestion in Port Jeuno will require a client-side update, and thus will be implemented in next week's update. We apologize to all players for this inconvenience, and ask for your patience and understanding.

    Assuming this is when they'll move those new NPCs around. Bleh, was hoping for it in this "update." something something Heaven's Tower.

    Man, every time they release notes/etc I feel like they grow more unprofessional each time. Getting bad with the "x/y/z is coming" "no never mind we can't do that for a while still."

    SE is notoriously bad at wording things but I'm getting a weird feeling that this means NMs outside Abyssea/via Voidwatch. It wouldn't make sense since it would lay a path for Emps without buying Abyssea, but they've done stranger things.

    why SE make a entire and HUGE city (whitegate) for nothing? (and who no have treasures atm?)

    and now no know how reduce congestion in Port Jeuno, my 13 dollars

    You can get seals outside of Abyssea now for AF3(makes no sense) as well as ancient currency from the BCNM(still makes no sense) but you have no way of upgrading the AF3 if you don't purchase Abyssea.

    SE doesn't look at Emps as weapons only. They consider all the AF3 as Empyrean Armor. So by them saying "Empyrean upgrade items can now be obtained from certain notorious monsters" they are more than likely referring to the +2 items available in different zones on different NMs.

    exactly. they made different ways to get upgrade items. However, if you want to actually get the base armor to start the upgrade, it is currently obtainable inside the different zones, through Dom Op credits, gold boxes, curor, and such

    Probably going to add 3x Main (jewel,stone,card,coin) 1x secondary (random other +2) to all the visions NMs, can't see them doing it to any scars NMs cause they already hold a main / second, the pool on NMs that drop empyrean weapon upgrade only have 1 slot left in pool after everything drops before something gets forced out.

    It probably just means one can get more than 1/1 +2 items from NMs in different zones.

    You're likely right. I somehow added/assumed weapon when I saw Empyrean.

    SE tried making sense by limiting ways to obtain desirable gear to one area and failed already, might as well try the opposite....and fail too.

    The first heading. Method used by monsters to detect players in the following zones, etc. These changes were announced earlier this week (with Pass, Mines, Ruins, Necropolis in the list), and then when they announced the 13th update (these notes) they removed those zones from the list.

    It's not unprofessional per se. It is the fact that they are pushing patches faster, so have less time to translate the information properly.

    Would you prefer the old model of when there are problems waiting to fix them until the next major version update?
