Please help me with some new PC questions

preface: I couldn't find a good thread to post this on so I started one. if a mod thinks it belongs better in another thread, please feel free to merge it.

my laptop broke Saturday and in a moment of weakness (and also a moment of pure frustration) I went out and just bought a new tower from Best Buy. I know they tend to overcharge, but it seems decent. now that my head has cleared from the laptop-death-induced rage, I'm wondering if I done fucked up, and I wanted to ask for your advice.

here is the link, I got this on sale so it was actually $499:

here are my questions to the all-knowing BG tech gurus:

    - did I get ripped off, and if so, by how much?
    - if I wanted to make this into a decent gaming rig, would it be possible? and if so, what should I upgrade? let's say I wanted to shoot for something like Skyrim or Final Fantasy XIV on decent-to-high settings but not necessarily maxed out.
    - on that note, the one thing that sticks out even to me is the graphics card. Radeon 4250 seems outdated given what's out there. how bad is it and what would be the best upgrade right now?
    - one of the reviews mentioned replacing the power supply because it "wasn't enough for the graphics card." I had no idea the power supply affected anything other than, well, the computer's ability to stay on. should I replace it, and what's a good option if I do?

The whole thing is junk. Place a quick newegg order on it and head back to returns.

Dvd drive, hd, ram could switch over. That 4200 is the integrated graphics on the lowest end modern motherboard actually worth buying for an older relative.

...yes, video cards to require electricity to function.

Return it and start over, it's complete crap.

hmm guess it's back to the drawing board. posted in the pc builds thread since that seems more appropriate.
