No girl is worth giving up a 6 figure salary job or changing hemispheres for, unless you're the free-spirited traveling type and never had any roots to begin with. And even then, it'd take a hell of a woman.

So, deep south, living with her mom in her 20s, talking about marrying a military guy soon after meeting him... sounds like she's either fat, or going to be fat. Probably going to be one of those military wives popping out a new baby 9 months after every homecoming. Not that that can't be cute, but it really depends on if that's your thing or not. To be honest, you lucked out. I don't know you, but I'm betting you didn't really want this. You wanted the emotional closeness, but not the turns your life would have taken if you had ended up with her. It wasn't worth it.

I made a thread about a girl here once about 2 years ago, except she was real and a bitch. I can tell you the bad feelings reside within a year, you just need to break the habit..in your case i guess it was talking to her everyday online but be glad this wasn't something more upfront and physical where emotions would have likely stuck to your heart more.

My current gf i met through aion, most people will tell you online relationships are 90% unsafe and not likely to occur but in my case she happened to work as a nurse in the hospital I rotate through for the past year and i would never be able to tell she plays games let alone an mmo at all when im with her in person. Life can be weird.

You need to take the "bad" that most of the people in thread are responding with and assume it's the truth. It most likely is, and even if it's not, it helps you get over her. She wasn't serious about you, that's about 99% proven by her actions (and that's lowballing it).

I'm not sure I could do a true internet relationship without any face time. I met a girl a while back through MMO's and pushed to meet up with her after a couple weeks, despite our 350 mile location difference, because it's the only real way to tell if the relationship will work. And that sure sped up the relationship failing, so it was very useful to do. You should have taken a week off and met this girl at some point to have had a chance. Too late now, don't fuck up next time.
