Plasma vs LCD TV. Halp

I misunderstood. I thought you were saying that LCD inherently have more lag than plasma because of the technology. I believe panasonic and sharp are the only lcd manufacturers that make sets with low delay, the others are as you said horrendous.


I personally dislike both technologies over CRT....... SED ; ;...... But I sway towards plasma over lcd.

Thanks for the replies. I think, due to the light in our room, we'd like to go LCD. The other things are a little negligible comparatively. That being said......

We were originally gonna go for a 42" because that was our budget and, due to our setup, the couch will be fairly close to the TV. But I just went to check them out at Best Buy and Target (I was doin' some shopping anyways) and 42" seems....fine. Just fine. Not amazing, but 46" seems like it's gonna be way more impressive. I haven't shopped around much, but how reasonable is it to think i could find a 46" 1080p LCD TV with at least 120hz for $6-700 that doesn't suck ass?

I don't know, but even if its a lower quality set, the increased size is going to be more important than any other perceived benefit of the smaller set. Bigger TVs also suffer shrinkage after the first few weeks. I don't mean they actually shrink, just that when you get it at first it's going to seem bigger than it will in a few weeks, so go as big as you can.
