If you can go during the day Sath I can probably convince my friends to let you and your friends in on our cleaves we do most Fridays.
What the fuck man you´re on the wrong server QQ
The more you do in succession, the more xp you get per page. Thats why you wanna spam one page and keep on it, the more you do it the more it gives you (Until of course, the mobs become TW). I was actually making more per average kill @ 25 than I was at 22. Bizzaro exp!
I'm on Quetz too. My main is getting moved along nicely with old LS mates through Abyssea, but I just started up a WHM mule that I need to play catch up with. I dual box, so I can play my WHM with you even if I'm on my main. Let me know if you need a whm..character names are in sig.
Note: Currently working on BLM sub its 10. I need to get it up to 30. Going to inevitabely have SCH sub for my WHM. BLM is just there for escape and warp.
Why u no help me?
@Sath - Abyssea is extremely addicting. I started playing last week and it's a lot of fun. You'll spend stones quick trying keep up with all the NMs, quests, atma, abyssites, AF3, bosses, exp, farming KI, etc. It's extremely fun though. As Rara said, start your stone timer as soon as possible. That's the cornerstone of everything that takes place.
This gusgen mines page is awesome, thanks Ap. I've gone from 15 to 23 WHM solo very easily so far and I think I can swing up to 27-28.
I had friends that rode Gusgen up to 32. As long as you're getting awesome xp from the book and the monsters still give xp, you might as well just keep at it. All those Prowess boosts you get turn you into a tiny god. Xp/page caps at 2x base, by the way.
I didn't even know about the glory that is Gusgen FoV..definitely going to take my mule there.
Also how do I start abyssea quest? Can I zone in Konschtat and just do them? Are they titled anything specifically?
You have to talk to Joachim at H-8 of Port Jeuno. (Top of the stairs from AH)
Edit: #1 Actually zone into Port Jeuno as a Lv 30 job or higher. #2 Then talk to Joachim at H-8.

Edit 2: Tip, after you get your first traverstone, travel to every Maw before turning it in for visiant status so you will have teleport access to those maws from here on out.

Edit 3: A travestone replenishes itself every 20 hours but you can obtain abyssite to reduce cool down by 4 hours each to a minimum of 8 hours.

Edit 4: Build fame/curor doing the quest http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/A_..._End_All_Wards
Did it until I had the 9000 curor to purchase the Ivory Abyssite of Celerity. Killed two birds with one stone because it built fame to allow access to the quest for the Crimson Abyssite of Celerity.
Talk to Joachim in Port Jeuno, by the steps leading to the AH (you should see a massive crowd). Once he gives you your first Traverser Stone, you can simply zone into maws and stuff. You'll get a "boss" quest every time you zone into a new zone (which will also unlock the teleport to there from Horst or equivalent NPC... but you MUST have a Traverser Stone or neither quest nor warp will be given). Periodically you'll get quests from Joachim talking to him after a certain number of boss kills and stuff. Since you'll be talking to him so much, it's pretty much impossible to miss a quest basically.
Then you have to zone into a maw (you don't have to spend the stone) and warp back out to talk to Joachim again. You can go around and collect all the maws with your first stone (by never spending it), but you need to be carrying a Traverser Stone in order to get credit and warp access from the NPC Horst near Joachim.
I don't know what kind of a support network you have this time around, but your first priority should probably be the Abyssites of Celerity. If you were very efficient and had some gil to blow, your best bet is going to be to trade a bunch of animal parts to the NPC in Vunkerl to pump up your fame (and Cruor a little) and then do the Black Whisker quest for an Abyssite of Celerity (-4 hours on stone regeneration time). Depending how quick you are, you might be able to do it all on your first stone.
If you have more friends than that, your best bet is to have them enter Abyssea - Konschtat and build Azure/Pearl light so they're getting time extensions before you enter. Then you enter and they pump up your time to 120 minutes while you walk out to Conflux #8 (it's a long walk). Once there, you pull Tonberries (death is going to be entirely offset by 1250xp Blue chests) until you get that Abyssite of Celerity. Using your excess time, you can go do the quest that I mentioned in the above paragraph. Depending how much extra time you have, perhaps you can get an xp alliance and blow off 40-60 levels while getting enough Cruor for the last Abyssite of Celerity and an Abyssite of Merit.
Just got Ogre Gloves and a Rainbow Cape from a chest in Gusgen...lol.
Edit: Geez this Abyssea stuff seems like the most in-depth content they've added in years and I missed all of it. Guess the way to go is going to be just taking it slow and learning. Am in no rush.
The chests in the grounds tomes don't drop augmented items, correct?
Correct. With a few exceptions, the only augmented items in chest are from Abyssea.
Also, in case it hasn't happened to you yet, so long as you dont leave the zone, all enhancements and exp chains stay. You can log out, just don't zone out. This allows you to keep building augments from doing GoV.
