Got my old toon back. 75 SAM/NIN, 55 WAR when I left. Gave away all my shit and gil but an old buddy of mine gave me 100K to start up again. I have enough r/ex gear to get my SAM started in Abyssea at least. The AH prices made my jaw drop. Scorpion Harness and Haub for 50K blew my mind.. Picked up a Haub, pole strap for my GKT and a Cerb mantle for 80K or so.

I have up to ToAU registered. WotG installed but not registered. Gonna download that new Abyssea collector's edition and hope that one code will register my WoTG so I can hop on in.

Also, any Shiva shells looking for people, let me know!

My account was keylogged back in 2007 (I've tried getting it back,no avail) decided to just make a new account. I had almost every job at 75, with w/ PLD, SAM, BLM as my mains. Essentially I wanna hit 90 as fast as possible, so what job would be best for that? I was thinking BLM to 18 WHM to 45 and Bard or RDM to 90. I assume RDM would be the fastest, once I'm 90 I wanna focus on just getting jobs up. Is the leveling process still the same? are there faster ways? I also was on stage 4 of my amano, so I know relics go up to 90 now, how difficult is it to get dynamis currency these days? I'd imagine you could do a full clear of dynamis w/ like 2 people nowadays

To be honest, RDM is almost useless inside Abyssea because of Refresh atmas. BRD isn't bad because march is always fun, but still not usually picked up. In reality, just sticking to BLM may be your "fastest" route to 90 considering they're almost always wanted for building azure lights in EXP parties and farming AF yellow procs. Once you have BLM 90, you may want to consider getting BRD up to around 30 for all of the threnodies.

With that combo you can jump in to any PUG to farm AF seals for any job.

Edit: On the leveling process:
1-10 can be solo'd super easy now.
10-30 isn't hard to solo on certain jobs, unsure for mages though. You can probably jump in to some GoV (Grounds of Valor) alliance somewhere and just keep doing page turn ins. There's still some parties in that range. Once you hit 30, you can do Abyssea and be burned to 50 in a matter of hours for the first level cap. Keep repeating until 90.

I just finished burning my BRD to 90. Once you hit 30 if you have still have friends who play, get them to slot you into Abyssea and you can get ANY job to 90 in 2 days or less.

That being said, WHM and BLM are by far the most in-demand Abyssea jobs that I've seen.

I dont personally think blm is really all that in demand. I get the whole grellow thing but I would see NIN WAR MNK THF or even BRD above blm is things I would bring for any given event

Well for the majority of us on BG, BLM may not necessarily be something that's a must have, but for someone starting out anew BLM/BRD is going to allow that person to cover two grellow jobs (assuming people in the shout groups have discernment). If they're doing mostly shout groups, BLM is probably going to be a very decent job not only to hit 90 with, but also get into seal farming parties easily as well.

400k for Quake etc.

I should have prefaced by saying I've only done Seal farming and XP parties. I recommend BRD though. You are more useful then most other jobs below 50-60. At least you can March them.

WHM is pretty cheap, except for Raise II, Raise III, Curaga IV, and all the time spent questing teles.
Though you're right it is a drop in the bucket compared to BLM these days.

BRD can be pricey with some of their scrolls. I know the Ballads 1 and 2 for sure are around 200k each.

Ballad 1 can be quested even though its a pain in the ass. Ballad 2 was never that hard to get, the chestpop patch made it harder to farm them.

Meh, I used atlas everyday and never got keylogged.

Also the nerfing of npc prices on orc piercer, yagudo freezer, and shellbuster made farming up there much less profitable, which means less ballad II scrolls coming into the server.
