Just do a better job of it and reintroduce Sorcerer into the FF universe. Absurdly powerful en-spells that culminate in en-bio, en-flare, and en-holy. Done.

It's already in the FF universe as Mystic Knight.

Mystic Knight = Sorcerer. Just depended on translation. Neither are a red mage, though, as red mages lean more towards casting than melee, and don't have nearly as powerful of en-spells, nor the amount. Mystic Knight/Sorcs also couldn't heal on their own unless they hit someone with an en-spell that the person absorbed.
