I think my laptop died -- any ideas/help?

A few days ago I was booting up SC2, and my laptop locked-up on the opening loading screen. Which was pixelated with random "dots"

I rebooted, but the computer wouldn't turn on. I decided to do a reformat (the thing was due anyway). After finishing reformatting, I was downloading and installing some software, when the laptop locked-up again. I got the BSoD, saying there was a memory management problem. After waiting a few minutes I turned the laptop on again. It again locked-up, then the screen flickered green and black, then going into the BSoD again.

I'm confident the thing is dead. Was just wondering if anyone had any ideas if stuff I can check.

    Thank you!

I'd at least download and burn Ultimate boot cd You need to burn it as an .iso not just copy it on to a disk. Change the laptop to boot from the CD drive. Run memtest and the hard drive app for your hard drive brand. The RAM (memory) and hard drive are fairly easy to replace at least and often the source of problems like these.
