Definitely. Just finished marathoning it myself after seeing all the talk of it in here and I really enjoyed it.

Last episode should be airing this week.

Most likely, unless you don't like scifi thriller and/or drama. Basically, just dont watch it expecting a ton of actions scenes.

I just marathoned it myself over the last 2 nights (Just finished it like 5 minutes ago), and so long as they don't fuck up this last episode, it might just take the spot of my favorite Anime ever.

    Spoiler: show
It's far from perfect though. Quite a few developments were entirely too predictable, and for a supposed genius, Okabe makes a few pretty bad decisions that just a little bit of thought could have vastly improved (and I didn't just notice these after the fact, but was literally facepalming as the it was happening). Even so, the characters are engaging and the story is well written and well told.

Am I the only one that had the urge to go out and get a lab coat after watching this?

I'm amazed how popular Steins;gate is, considering how eager I was to write off the show based on Chaos;head lol

Yeah, Chaos;head was pretty shitty, it's amazing how different Steins;gate turned out.

I wonder if there's a translation of the Visual Novel/Game somewhere. If Fate/Stay night is any indication, then I'd probably love it. Of course, I could probably say the same about Clannad. It seems to me that Anime based on Visual Novels/Games tend to be really well done to capture the central story arc and develop the characters.

Aside from the ones I've mentioned, are there any other good Anime based off of Visual Novels/games?

My only beef with them is that they all seem to be Harem-oriented, though it's usually not overly apparent in the Anime adaptations so long as they establish the female lead early on. Of course, that's only a minor gripe, and it's something that I can usually get over instantly; I'd just like to see someone make one that WASN'T a Harem.

I'm sure there are others out there, but pretty much every visual novel I've chanced upon is a sex game of sort. They might not always be harem, but there are usually enough girls to choose from to make it close. Anyway, I watched FSN before I wound up playing the game, and it's evident the anime left some things out or maybe tried to mix paths. But I guess that's inevitable if limited to a certain number of episodes. Not sure if there was ever a Tsukihime anime adaptation, which was another TypeMoon VN. Maybe not as popular as FSN, but I think I liked that main character more if only because he had to go through some bigger mind fucks.

Tsukihime anime was boring/forgettable as hell. I haven't played the game though so maybe that would cast it in a better light.

    Steins;Gate Movie
    http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...film-green-lit
A clip after the final episode of the Steins;Gate television anime series announced on Wednesday morning that production on a film has been green-lit. 5pb. studio head/producer Chiyomaru Shikura had revealed the news before the announcement actually aired. Steins;Gate producer Yoshinao Doi had also indicated earlier on Tuesday that viewers should keep watching their televisions after the episode's ending animation sequence is over.

    Edit

    Steins;Gate Ep 24

HOLY SHIT does this show deliver .this is just about god-tier ending in every way possible. It's one of the very few works of entertainment to have ever gotten me so hooked, so emotionally invested in its universe and characters. happy it pulled through after its shaky start.

Amazing, perfect, flawless ending. Everything was done perfectly. This is now in my top 5 all time series. If you haven't watched this yet, go download it immediately.

Pretty much said everything I was going to about this. Loved this series and I'm glad I ended up watching it after seeing all the talk about it in here.

Kind of confused about the movie announcement though.

Steins;Gate wins. I wonder what the premise for the movie will be... Continuation of the story? Cinematic retelling?

I can't see it being a retelling, it'd be too soon. A new story set a little further along would be my guess. But damn, episode 24, so good. As much as I like endings that leave a ton of shit open and makes you wonder what happened, I like endings like this so much more. Everything got nicely wrapped up with room for continuation if need be.

Also since I was curious I did a search for an English translation patch for the VN. It turns out there isn't one yet, but it's being worked on here and is expected by December. They're even using a divergence meter to show their progress with each status update which is a nice touch.

    http://vn.shourai.net/wp-content/upl.../0-300x113.png

That's as of 8/28. When it hits 1.1% we'll have an English translation (0.1% for each of 11 chapters) I'm totally playing through it when the patch is released.

    Steins;Gate was absolutely amazing.

    Spoiler: show
Normally, I tend to view bittersweet/sad endings as better, but in the case of this show, I'm quite satisfied with a happy ending that wraps things up so nicely. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

But what happened with Suzu? I thought she was going to be stuck in Okabe's time line with them since she didn't have enough fuel to get anywhere else.
