Targetmode A is for gamepad users, you can only change the target type with the gamepad under A. Targetmode B is for keyboard users, you can use the arrow keys to change the target type. Targetmode C doesn't let anyone change the target type, it will always be set to "All".

As I just said, the patch notes say that they removed target filter cycling from A. So what's the difference between A and C?

OK I had a doubt about this, it's clear now: their targetting system still sucks hard.
A mode C where you can change the target type shouldn't be hard to implement, and would let the players use the L/R arrows for NPCs and U/D arrows for party members by instance. But no...

Really? I thought they're targetting system was like a million times better ever since they implemented the targetting modes. I haven't had a single issue since then.

It's 1 million time better, it's just that it was originally 10^8 time worse than anything else. It's still subpar.

I know that SE's engine and UI design doesn't allow for anything outside of MSDOS text commands, but seriously? Does every proposed UI "fix" have to be accessed through backslash? This is seriously some 1984 MUD stuff.

I actually like text commands being available. Plus, from a programming standpoint, it's much easier to add functionality this way, instead of having to design a GUI for every bit, and then having to redesign the GUI for every small modification.

If they'd fix the updater it wouldn't be too bad. 300MB when the game is down for 2+ hours isn't that big of a deal.

The updater works fine, if you set up a proper port forward for the incoming torrent port. I got the patch with 500+ kbytes/sec.

1. Run FFXIV Config. In the networking options, disable UPnP. Completely disregard the port number that's shown there, it's wrong.
2. Run the game and wait until the downloader starts looking for peers (when that progress bar is shown).
3. Run cmd.exe
4. Type "netstat -a" and look for the TCP port 55xxx with state LISTEN.
5. Forward the external TCP port 55xxx to your PC's IP address, port 55xxx on your router.

Now you'll see incoming "Remote connections" after a couple of minutes, you don't even need to restart the downloader.

I observed, that the incoming port never changes, but it's still different on different installations. I guess it's saved somewhere in a config file, in the registry or dependent on something else. And it's definitely not the number shown as the incoming port in the config tool. Ignore that number, find out your incoming port using netstat -a while the downloader is running.

It wouldn't be as bad if they at least had a UI option that lists all of the commands, and just give you a scroll and click option to enable them. One system takes a matter of seconds to program your entire UI settings, and the other takes far longer. Or what, are they expecting us to make macros for our UI options?
