Opps, removed the so-called feature where people have to be allowed to view it, here is new one. Sorry about that.

    Nice work on the chart.

It seems silly to fight over something as 'stupid' as giving credit to game (a 'dead game' at that) information, but it totally sucks to spend time on something and have someone else take credit, whether intentional or not. So I'm glad it got worked out. The short little chart I started actually took a lot more time since back then the levels of mobs were not directly viewable and I had to kill mobs at each star level to back-calculate their LVL based on SP gain. Though looking back I could have just looked on YG and found the rank up pattern. Nowadays you can just directly look at mob's level and/or just correlate what you see with level ranges on YG.

Regarding a base SP chart, if someone wants to do some work with that would be appreciated, but just heads up, I already have about 60% of every mob in the game down. I'm just putting it together in a more readable form right now because it's getting massive. It's amazing how much 'research' material you can find in a game you're really interested in but that has no content. I'll probably have it out somewhere this weekend, then we can all talk SP camps for solo, duo, 4pt, and full party groups. I think with the basic SP information found and documented in an easy to read form, we can do the XIV community a big favor by mathematically proving where the best SP camps are for party play. Sort of like Campsitarus for XIV.

Also for Togison, if you have 'research' on topics like INT/PIE/MND/enmity etc., I suggest just posting it and linking it for credit. If you dislike BG then go to ZAM/official forums (but I hope you post here as well). People ultimately don't care if someone with information hates BG/ZAM/etc. they just want good information. I think you should post it somewhere though since you will really want someone else to look at it to find any errors.
I didn't know you were on BG. I like your THM solo videos, if i could stand playing the class i would take lessons from you.

If you wouldn't mind giving me your info on base sp, I will put together a spreadsheet with the info, or if Togison would like to add it to his, which ever works best, I just think it would be great info to have.

Edit: After reading the whole post... Seems you are already working on it, I will start collecting data to help as much as I can.

Also by then, I hope to be able to do actual links. I will post info on INT, MND, PTY for DoTs and Nukes later this week, but some info I already posted a few weeks ago on Moogleinc forums. Emnity I will not post, since it is changing, and by they way to all those peopel that think DEX does almost nothing, you might be surprised how much it does make a difference.

    Make a difference in what?

I just started with 50 dex, killed 10-20 mobs, then pumped all points into dex, 122 total dex, keeping the same damage average for ws and normal actions. Not sure about acc., but it appeared to stay the same.

Hardly a solid test at all, but did the same with str. last week and had the same results.

Maybe I will test again, recording numbers, and having a much larger test pool. But from the small amount of testing (not claiming my tests are solid at all) I have done, I don't see any advantages to dex or str.

I would love to see some hard data on the both, and will try again when I have time to sit down and record numbers.

Now, atk on the other hand, makes a huge difference and you can tell just by eye balling a few mobs.

Edit: There was some testing on dex and str done by some people on these forums, they did a much better job than me and recorded their data on a rather large number of mobs.... I can't seem to find the thread....

I've asked this multiple times but to no avail. What do the mob levels mean and what are they based on? Example: I am level 9 glad and level 10 sent and I was able to kill level 18-20 mobs pretty handily. I'm just confused on what the mob levels actually mean.

When taking into account player vs mob level, it's always your main class. Sentinel and Physical have no bearing on calculating SP. When aiming to get max SP you want to get a mob that is 10 ranks above you. Ie you're 9 glad, you want a rank 19 mob. A rank 19 mob and a rank 20,21,22,25, 27(of the same type) will give the same SP. 10 ranks is the max. This is also aimed at party play(leves or grinding) moreso than solo as you'd probably get better sp/hr solo on rank 12 mobs than 18 etc. You can also find a nice mob type/rank vs base SP awarded chart by kaeko if you search....

Oh hay top of the page. Was searching all over for it myself lol.

I appreciate the info but I was more so asking about the gauge of difficulty but I guess it depends on the mob type. Also, does the "level" of the mob change based on my level? I was running around and ran into a mob that was level 95 or something and it wasn't named. I can't imagine a group of 50's being able to take down a mob that is level 95. That's where my confusion comes in. I'm not so concerned with the EXP or SP.

They don't change, it's just that SE put some really high level mobs in locations they don't want us/that have no purpose.

As for rank difference I think thats just how 'balance' is atm, I was able to easily kill r40-44 Pudding/Yarzon on my LNC33 during the easter event.

Mob levels come in ranges of 5 so always aim for the rank range two (solo) or three (group) tiers above you, with some exception for mob type, which you'll either learn from personal experience or by asking around/researching. The level ranges are always X0-X4 and X5-X9. When choosing where to XP, let's say you're rank 33, you'll want to look for mobs in the 45-49 range for a group and perhaps 40-44 for solo.

They're actually quite easy, s'just how it is. For how big a factor dLvl is with almost everything.. it hits a ceiling relatively quickly.

I don't know if I'd call a kill where half the party died "easy" as much as "not impossible".

How many people did you have there besides the 8 that were currently in party?

If I was trying to brag I'd state it was difficult, not that it was easy. They were easy, we farmed them all night to make the red spectacles because they drop Gold Dust. Made enough for everybody and even got some +3 dust. Just happened to have a screenshot of the corpse on that one as happened to be 99, most are 92-97. Youll die if you eat a bomb toss, but theyre avoidable if you care enough to try. Nobody else was there but the party and I believe we were going with 6 for a while.

The reason why I asked how many people were there is because there appears to be at least 9 in that screenshot.

And we all know how the internet works; you don't brag by saying something is hard, you brag by saying that thing was easy for you.

This is why I love the combat in the game (solo wise anyway). It feels like I have a lot of control over the fight and with some skills, you can pull off a win.

Easy for everybody. Everything in this game is soloable, no exceptions. I don't know why you'd expect a full party to have difficulty with anything. Balance doesnt exist.

    And like I said, 6-8.
