About to start playing ffxi from scratch. Is windower still safe? windower.net?

I am on a 30inch monitor, 2560x1600 and would like to be able to alt tab and maybe a few other simple things.

Best job leveling path for a thf? Was thinking Mnk to 18 > thf to 30 for adv jobs > get dnc up as a sub or nin > then back to thf.

Can take thf to 1>30 in crawlers nests leeching GoV. Then abyssea to 90. Can take subs 1>30 same way. I could be wrong about GoV at leave 1 however i know i took 6 jobs from 12>30 in Crawlers Nest. The trick is to get in a GoV Ally that is ok with you being leech, most are ok however if need you should get a lvl50~54 to kill the crawlers and bees for you. Most times Alliances will invite you and your friend so they dont have to fight over pulls. That is the fastered way but will leave you gimped skill wise.

Are Crit +3, WSD+2 augmented Bellicus Cuisses the best WS legs for WAR? Just traded in capped trophies (so 232?) and only saw crit hit rate 3 times and WSD 10 times, obviously never at the same time either. Not sure if I can put myself through that again...

In abyssea yes. Outside augmented byakkos are better if you are in a good range for ddex.

Yes, Base Delay for MNK at lvl1 is 400, w/ Cesti it's 448.

Yeah, if you look at the weapon it'll actually say Delay:+48 as opposed to Delay:48, similarly DMG:+1 instead of DMG:1 with normal weapons. They both add to a base.

Been gearing up blu for a while now (mostly according to nightfyre's ffxiah sets) and am now running into a huge problem. I am trying to carry around my Benthic Typhoon, str/vit, str/dex, ws, tp, idle, and pdt set.. and while i can do this. i am basically out of space with those.. have no room for healing set (not that it matters since i always have a whm with me). Can't carry my sanguine set (in case i wanna do ambers or somethin), Can't even attempt to get my charged whisker set out of sack. I'm just curious what other blu's do in this situation. Do you only "pimp" a couple of your sets and just carry meh gear for the rest?

also, working on almace.. When i get it do i need to use GH RR Apoc in abyssea and not really cast spells much? If so i could see freeing up some inventory then. just carry benthic/cdc/tp/idle/quadratic continuum sets around

What's a good strat for lowmanning the final ACP fight? By lowman I mean trio, available jobs: WHM RDMx2 NIN x2 BRD between the 3 people. Is it possible to win with these jobs?

I'm not going to be very helpful I'm afraid, except to say that it'll be only possible if it's possible to melee burn it. Magic damage does next to nothing so I wouldn't try a RDM nuking type strategy etc. Charm would be your main problem with melee burning, along with its high aoe damage potential during last stage. A stunner can help a lot.

Compromise, unfortunately. Embrace hybrid pieces, suck up a few points of damage lost on a few niche spells (eg don't -2 inv for a small increase in damage on ONE spell or something). Use Satchel/Sack religiously.

eg: I wouldn't use a Spiral Ring for QC. Just stick to the STR ring you use for the rest and save 1inv at the cost of some minor spell damage sometimes.

You'll cast spells a lot less, but still cast them. On high level prey you will melee a lot more since Blue Magic Attack ensures that most of your spells turn to shit on anything difficult. Lower stuff it's still beneficial to go through most of your spells, intermediate stuff eh QC, GR and CABenthic when it's up, maybe with some other stuff. GH/RR/Apoc or SS/RR/Apoc both work. I believe math on ffxiah recently suggested that offensively GH ~= SS; it's whether you prefer HP or Subtle Blow and some Benthic Typhoon damage.

I recently leveled Dancer and am having trouble deciding what job specific merits I should get. I'm going to be focusing on using it to solo/low man things (me being the "tank".)

Haste samba + reverse flourish are the only options for group 1 no matter what you use dnc for. For group 2 I like 5 closed position, 1 each in fan/saber, 3 NFR. If you get more use out of fan dance you could do 5 in it, but I rarely touch it as is.

No, but that is what it was for. Closed position is pretty useless if you aren't tanking, 5 saber dance would be normal if you were trying to DD.

2 Saber Dance, 2 No Foot Rise, 5 Closed Position, 1 Fan Dance.

The logic behind it:
Fan Dance 1: There are very few situations (even low man) where you'll want to ride Fan Dance faster than its 5 minute recast.

Saber Dance 2: Saber Dance offers a pretty minimal gain per merit level after the first (1 merit = 21.5%, 5 merits = 22.5% DA average), but have two merits in it lets you keep it up without it ever falling.

No Foot Rise 2: If you're using Presto -> Step, and a Step misses, Presto lasts for 30 seconds so it'll still be up and give you a second shot at +3 Finishing Moves. As a result, the most that you need to maintain a 5-FM rotation with NFR is level 2 NFR.

Closed Position 5: Never hurt to be more evasive, and extra merits dumped into other categories aren't very useful

Does anyone know how much data you download per month by playing FFXI? Obviously depends on how much you play but what if we said like 3-4 hours every day?
Dows anyone know how much data that would download per month? I just moved to New Zealand for the winter, they dont sell internet packages by download speed, they do it by download limit, so I can choose a plan with a 5Gig, 10Gig, 15Gig, etc monthly download allowance. In a house of four people, they will likely only use internet for facebook/email etc and a few youtube vids.

I always figured FFXI didnt download that much data as it was made for a 56kb speed connection, but just wanted to check.

This is correct. Applies to Daurdabla, AF3+2 body, and AF3 neck.

Just stun disgorge. As for harp, it's pretty awesome but the investment is pretty crazy.
