Although that may be true, I think lower lights may still work in your favor, since higher lights will add KI to the drop list and will really screw over your drop rate.

It also removes pop items from the list, and you get more gold boxes.

If you can control other lights (fight no-ruby mobs, only get just enough azure for TE) pop items can be sold vs KI's rot. Depends on your zone if they'll be worth anything though.

quick rng question:

outside abyssea only, 5-hit jishnu's with 22 attack vs. 6-hit w/ +13% crit dmg and 15 dex.

basically looking to see if vulcan's/rose + af3+2 legs for WS and TP for a 5-hit are better than a 6-hit that lets me use yataghans (10% atm, still working towards +12%) and crit-augmented byakko's for jishnu.

this is when /nin only, when /sam, i can 5-hit in the better ws gear.

/WAR beats /SAM and /NIN in terms of damage, should be using that imo. You don't need to WS in AF3+2 legs to maintain 5 hit build either. Maybe list out your whole sets so I can see where the problem is.

If you're going to redo acp/asa/mkd what are the steps? I know for a fact you need to throw out the piece and wait 'til jp midnight - but do you just walk up to the arena? I've heard you might have to redo the last quest (annoying) - if this is true do you need to recollect all of the stat boosters for ASA?

You have to have the key item necessary for the fight if you want the reward for the fight, just like you did it the first time. It should all be detailed on the wiki's individual pages for each fight.

Pretty sure you have to redo the last quest to gain access to the BCNM. At least it worked for MKD hat. I tossed my hat, did the beaucedine/xarcabard minigames, and did the final fight to get the two keyitems for the box in lower jeuno.

You can pay a few seals instead, too. I think it's like 20 beastmen per attempt.

I personally don't think it matters how much amber you have. I say this because I recently cleaved for feet in chasm, we were cleaving for 3 hours 45min. Capped amber/azure/pearle, then for 3 hours didn't get a single af3 drop. Then suddenly in the last 45 minutes we got 1-3 feet every single pull, ended up with 14 feet in about 45min.(no changes made whatsoever, not in mobs we were cleaving, or in the # of lights we had). I think it's random, and all luck.

hmm you guys make interesting points. I've noticed a lot more feet tend to drop while building amber vs. when it's actually capped, but of course, that can totally just be random which is why I wanted to double check, but if it really does seme you get as much feet or more while capped maybe we should stick to that then.

My observations have been that it's a trade-off. If you have 0 amber, the drop rate of feet is relatively high per box (something like 1 in 3-5 or so), but the drop rate of boxes is extremely low. As you increase your amber, more possibilities are added to the list of things gold boxes can have, so the box:feet ratio drops (something like 1 in 30-50), but the kill:box ratio goes up. I would estimate that the total kill:feet ratio remains relatively constant for all values of amber.

Just toss the reward and speak to the goblin in port jeuno. Tossed Galea few weeks ago, bought a new Kupon from gob (took 20 beastmen seals from my total stored at Shami) and was able to walk in to throne room no problems.

I would agree with this. I tend to go with capping amber and just barely getting azure high enough for TEs, but only because of the augmented items/NPCables and KIs.

Several other threads have reported him MIA. People think it's either a bug or it is related to how many people do the Misama quests. I used to see Ramuh all the time in Vunk but he has been missing for a few weeks (months?) now.

thanks, i've posted several questions that went unanswered, so some help would be appreciated. that's not bitching, it's just the nature of the random question thread. here's the two sets at the moment, with comments and questions:

the only really glaring omission is the lack of af3 body (just need 4 more seals and a couple of bennus to be done with it), the +2ing of the feet, and tiny stuff, like i know i could use a better 2nd ring, and i need to poke adze for the snapshot belt.

the only glaring absence is an aias bonnet (or MKD hat). that's just a matter of finding the time to go poke yaannei. rings/earrings will get updated properly when the cap is 99, no point in dropping 4 mil on a jupiter pearl to have it become obsolete by a 10k drop from a new NM in the next update.

so where do i find the store tp for the 5-hit? any other notes or thoughts are appreciated as well. i have a feeling that i'm gonna be taking lots of pictures of baby fafnirs to put together a mekki shakki pop. oh, and haidate are augmented w/ store tp +3, crit dmg +3%.

for TP: when u need xhit stuff, obviously rajas>hoard, outside of store tp stuff, bellonas> jalzahn> arewe +1?

ws: same with about keeping xhits as above, JR: dex +7>rajas>dex+6 (im not exactly sure if rajas sits beween those two) for side or namas or w/e str+7 rings! given right situation and if reaching ddex might want to use some str rings over dex on jishnu's,

i kinda just whipped this up while browsing from a friends comp, so no spreadsheets to really backup this stuff, but if anyone wants to chime in please do so, just felt id take a stab at trying to answer ya~

i could probaly be more clear and precise if you have a certain situation to pose, but its not like thers tons of options out there, most of it should seem like the obvious choices~

heres a sorta informal best to worst: TP:bellona > jalzahn > arewe(+1) ws: stat(beit str or dex)+7, rajas, stat+6, stat+5 and so on, i remeber seeing some behemoth rings with str+2 from one of the aby quests, thats not too bad for a tp ring, id prolly put it after jalzahn, but before the arewe
