    RDM also has nukes. And it's a 1 hour fight, you'd have to be going at a pretty slow clip for immunities during the last 40% to be anything but an annoyance. Still, a BLM would be nice so you can stun dissipations instead of having to eat them. But if you're bringing BLM, you may as well swap the RDM for a BRD.

Does anyone have access to these or have a way to contact shamaya? I know he quit and I don't know how to contact him. Better still, does the math he conducted still look sound? Or someone could just give me a list of all the gear and when to use it for THF XD

    This has been irritating me for a while and the first few times I put it down to a bad connection but this is happening far too often to be only that.

    Does Brulo have an endeath or additional unshown damage property on Flaming Crush? Probably 5-6 times now I have seen tanks die when the damage in the log is less than the HP the tank had. Like tonight the tank had 3310 HP and dropped dead when Flaming Crush did 2566 with the previous hit in the log 7 seconds earlier on both mine (I was WHM) and the tanks screen (EDIT: Not from spikes damage either, spike damage adds up to 198 between the hit and Flaming Crush). It happened a few times to me personally when tanking too, Flaming Crush would do 1500-2000 and I'd drop dead despite having 2.5-3.5k+ HP but I assumed I'd lagged or something.

    He might have landed additional swings during the animation. If you're not already set up in MDT gear, that's roughly 900-1k DMG he tacks on with his triple attack.

    I think Ifrits are just broken like that. I've seen that happen more than once in Temenos C2 killing ifrit there.

    My guess is your home city was in a campaign battle the second time you tried to get an operation.

    Unless you could select other ops but not Plucking, in which case idk

    Uh, if you can't kill it quickly once it starts using citidel buster, you're toast. It can buster more often than capped recast on Migawari.

    CB is on a 90 second timer, migi should be up in 72 seconds.

    CB is not on a 90 second timer. I've seen him start another countdown within 10 seconds of him using it.

    I'm about 90% certain it's just another TP move he can use. (he might have 3/tic regain or something, which would lead to 1 every ~90 seconds if you didn't do anything to him)

    I did Proto-Ultima not too long ago. It's actually quite easy, mage + NIN should be a solid win as would probably MNK + WHM. I don't really think Energy Screen is much of an issue below 20% as it blows its TP right at 19% and probably won't (with capped Subtle Blow + Myoshu or Penance) get enough to WS again before CB countdown starts, at which point it blows its TP again. NIN can use Migawari to survive CB (which was only used once when I went before it died) while MNK can rely on some MDT + Stoneskin (Solace). I'm not sure how often CB occurs, Migawari recast is probably going to be around 70 seconds in that situation. I can't imagine it occurring more frequently than that, but it's been a long time since I've been engaged in a drawn out Proto-Ultima battle. You will still get off at least two Migawari casts either way, which should be enough. Mage people will have to stand next to it during Citadel Buster countdown, at least for a little bit, because I remember there being full hate reset on its primary target (at the initiation of countdown), maybe can't even get hate back during it? Not totally sure. Either way, it's not that difficult, maybe I'll do a solo attempt for fun on NIN/DNC.

    Am I just having bad luck with fucking sobek? Every tyrant tusk kills me. I'll be at full health, no bio, and I move out of the way, and still get dropped instantly, every time.

    I really am hesitant to ask this but how do you determine if attack is capped against an enemy or number of enemies?
    I ask because i keep reading about using certain gear over others when attack is capped. I just want to understand when/how to determine this.

    Assuming /check works on the enemy, play around with your attack value until you find the point at which removing 1 attack will make it change to "high defense"

    You need double that attack to cap for 1 handers, and 2.2 times that attack to cap for two handers.

    If /check doesn't work on that enemy, and you can't figure out it's level, you just have to estimate.

    So if i understand this right unless I am fighting lower/midlvl monsters attack usually wont ever be capped? It seems unlikely anyone would try to see when 1 ATT would cause a enemy to check as high defense. I ask mainly cause people say things like "use jailer gorgets/att,acc belt unless attack capped then use eleGorget/belt" and similar.

    Well, I mean a VT/IT mob in abyssea is going to have around 440 defense. It's not especially hard to hit the 968 attack needed to cap with berserk or stalwart's or being a DRK...

    Any NM suggestions or if I should try big/little gold boxes to try for the malachite in Chasm for that damn quest?

    I've seen a fair number of Malachites (5+). All of them came from small gold boxes with low lights.
