Why would you even bother to brew the ironclads? They are easy to get people to want to come farm them for body seals.

DD + WHM can easily do the altepa and grauberg ones. Uleguerand one is a little tougher because of the continual and compunding attack and pdt boosts but still feasible.
Seems a waste to brew ironclads when you have 75 Apa Horns to do later on, but your call.
Right. Just do the altepa ironclad. It's easy to get people to help since it drops NIN and SAM seals, and easy to lowman. Just watch out for hate reset if you're just doing DD+WHM.
Also looking at your sig, I'd highly recommend just trying to do your soul stage first. You won't believe how many people get to that stage and then stop trying.
Colorless soul stage by itself can be more difficult than the entirety of many other weapons. I second the suggestion to get that stage started immediately. The harp is only worth a shit at 90 so it doesn't matter what stage you do first.
So its similar to doing stage 1 relic first? I'll take the words to heart and start working on the souls first, however atm Im doing T3 VNM in mis for my dnc AF3+2 so my T2 abyssites are being kind of set on that atm.
As for brewing ironclads, I am generally on JP prime time, and theres not many people on at same time as me except a couple of my friends. I guess I'll try ape horns and see if they're harder and garner need for brewing more, if what you say is right (which I trust it is) then I'll probably work on doing my harp backwards then, just like a relic.
is it possible to use both spellcast and regular windower macros? or once you set up spellcast, do you have to run all your macros through it? i ask because my ranger and monk don't really need, but it would definitely bump up the efficiency of my blm.
thanks!
You could even just join a lot of shouts for ironclad and just take the plates.
Souls aren't THAT bad, but the VNM upgrade process is tedious and at times it can be daunting because you'll be competing with many other people. It is the "hardest" stage because of those reasons only. Apademak is by far the hardest fight of your three stages; if you're thinking about brewing iron clads at all then I can tell that you're not going to be killing apademak without a brew.
Just don't use spellcast for rng+mnk then. You can either //unload spellcast or just don't create any xmls for them. You can also use a combo of windower macros and spellcast if you really want. . . don't know why you wouldn't want to just go straight to spellcast for everything though.
How do you type the spellcast variable for equipping a certain category of weapon. I know that <if EquipMain=" "> works for the specific name of the weapon, but I'm wondering what you put for weapon types (scythe, sword, etc.).
Lots of competition, lots of luck necessary for your abyssite to upgrade, and Maere/Brulo will almost never double drop. As far as claiming T2s, Chione is the one you want but it drops BLM so there will be a lot of people after it. Also, you'll want as many people in your group to have colorfuls as possible if you want to claim, and it's a pain to constantly make your friends farm up more colorfuls on their own.
It's not that it can't be done but it's a pretty brutal trial, not for the faint of heart. Harp is definitely nice though.
Yeah, my point was none of the fights are particularly difficult for the colorless souls, just farming the pops is time consuming. It's an artificial difficulty, if you will.
thanks for the response. i imagine i'll probably end up using it for all of my jobs, but i'm learning from scratch and haven't done coding in like 15 years, so my plan is to set up for blm, learn how it works, then implement it with my other jobs. i just don't want to destroy all my regular macros while i'm learning![]()
