Yes, it was how they were acting, and I did not realize that was the problem at the time. They were literally all stuck on top of me.
And some zones do have some form of trigger if you're moving too fast, the starter zones I know for a fact have them. Can't say for sure how they work, but I know they're there. I WAS LAGGING THIS TIME TOO, I SWEAR GAIS.
I've never heard an answer to the question of BLU melee atma since the SS patch, so you could be right. I went with GH over AoA for the following reasons:
1. If I'm tanking, I don't want to give the mob TP and I don't get higher tier subtle traits like MNK.
2. AGI also helps Benthic Typhoon.
3. Counter is nice for tanking.
4. No quick cast to mess up my Ichi casting
SS v AoA I could see AoA winning, but I would think the utility of SS increases with critical hit rate while the utility of AoA becomes undermined via the mega-DA we're beginning to receive. Also, additional HP for survival is nice. You could be right about AoA, but I'm too lazy to simulate it.

I'm suprised about the lack of MM, I think I asked before about Blu atmas and got RR/GH/MM as the normal setup. Been using that pretty much exclusively.

It varies by what you're doing. If you're spamming spells, minikin is an obvious choice. However, some mobs aren't worth casting against (See: Alfard/Ningiajajhnuqnbjhbqshqb). Generally, this applies to high DEF mobs since BLU ATT for spells is shit whereas critical hit adds a bonus point during the pDIF/ratio formulation as well as raising the cap.
Alright, I'm lazy atm and not in the mood to skim all of the VW thread right now. Has it been confirmed yet if cat2 spells are potential trigger? I know cat2 JA can trigger highly vulnerable, so that gives me worry in wasting merits just making sure everything that affects a mob in some way is meritted on all my jobs.
