I have been after the refresh hairpin for awhile and have been doing 4-5 hour farming sessions everyday for the last week or so, normally I would cap amber/pearl/azure and go cleave tonberries.

Something I noticed yesterday was as soon as I entered and had <50 amber lights I got a chest with double hairpins but unfortunately no refresh augment, does amber have to be near/capped for the refresh augment to be a possibility?

I feel capping pearl at leaving amber around 100 might be a better way of farming if it is possible.

You do not need large boxes to get refresh augs on hairpins. I think people aim for small boxes just to eliminate the chance of KI's in the boxes.

I believe the best way would be the min azure required to get TEs + highest amber before big boxes + capped pearl. Then fight a mob that doesn't give a light for however your killshotting.

I proc with Wasp Sting on Dancer against Weaponskill type mobs. There's no point in killing a monster until it's procced, so I don't feel bad using a shitty WS. Aeolian Edge is the best option if you have the support and multiple targets though. =p

Definitely doesn't need to be capped. I got mine offhandedly camping Turul one day, right after I had entered (after spending countless hours farming for it intentionally, of course). It was before the light checking update so I couldn't give exact numbers but my Amber was definitely <50 like yours was.

We’ll be moving soon, but for this particular area, we’ll probably just stick with Bst/Dnc then. Maybe try a Bst & Pup combination. The area has 2 Plds & 1 Blm and the other 5ish are JA mobs. Seems silly to have 1 go /mage for the 1 blm in the area. We’re thinking it’s better to just get him out of the way fast. Drop n seconds and move on.

BLM and DNC and go for mage/light armoured mobs. Make sure you have a decent enfeebling build for silence for the BLM but that's what I'd do. Strictly for currency though, without a THF you'll see some but not much relic. Saying that BST tear things up in there and if you're experienced with procing the kills might be faster. For currency though you can just spam kill the EP mobs and then it doesn't really matter

I’d say my blm is decent at best, and his Dnc is probably above average but neither of us are very spectacular on those jobs (well…he’s actually a good dnc imo). His Mnk and my Nin are becoming better too, but the few times we went as those jobs, it was hard to handle too many links. We think BST/BST or BST/PUP so far is our best option, but just wanted to see what you guys thought. I’m sure if we had it, one of us would go thf but…/sadface.

As for relic armor, not really concerned…we both have ‘everything’ the icelands have to offer at this point.

I found for procing that RDM+ DNC was pretty good as long as you have a decent nuking build on RDM. You may be better off sticking with BST+BST. Not sure how PUP is, they might be surprisingly good in there

We went again last night with 2 Bst/Dnc. Thought about changing to Pup, but was already at the Trail Marking. So probably try it tonight. We both ended up leaving with 71 coins after we split (142 total). Hopefully that’s on Par with other low-man groups. Fought 4 NMs…proc’d them all too but no 100 pieces . Dippy is nice because it can easily tank 2-4 non-mage jobs if things get hairy.

I’m not necessarily keeping a list of what procs, just looking to see what been confirmed to proc’d. which at this point seems like anything/everything. If someone was able to proc Dia on a mage type, I’ll assume it works on every mage type and just spam it procs or dies.

I was in jeuno yesterday. 3 from 4 100's we got were w/o proc. It seems TH is much more important on NMs if you want 100 and proc are more important on regular mobs to get singles.

I'm new to BG and not completely sure if this is the right place to post this kind of question but here I go :D

I recently tried updating Ap Radar 3 since it said it needed an update when I opened it up yesterday. It tried to update but would fail at about 97% completed. I didn't know how to fix it so I completely uninstalled the program and tried re-installing it from scratch. Now it just ends at 99% and gives me an error message that says "Error reading URL. Operation timed out"

I can't seem to find out how to make it complete it's download. What should I do? (I run Windows7 x64 if that helps at all)

You are probably better off getting help with this from the apradar website forums than bg. http://apradar.com/

That said, there was a crash bug in the updater in a recent version. Try installing fresh with the most recent setup version from the downloads page not via updater/installer. http://apradar.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=2

Also make sure you don't have other programs running when you install. Especially FF.

Will thunder belt/gorget work? I've heard they dont affect elemental ws's.

Do Obi's/Zodiac ring work for elemental WS's?

Also is magic attack bonus capped under brew effect?

Using atma of lion, blinding horn, ultimate. dont have hells guardian, are these 3 the best to use?

Rav+2 head, Artemis medal, Novio, Hecate

Is there a huge difference between brew on bst and brew on war for the same mob, not sure which job i want to use as my "brew job."

If i brew on bst, i can do the anwig salade / mirke / shantotto legs all with mab, but is this even worth it for the minimal gain? Is the gain minimal or noticable?

Nah because he counts as an NM so odin will only do dmg. It won't even deal that much dmg, I don't think Odin can kill its only a Diabolos 2hr but better. It will eat all your MP and he will come running with his pet and destroy you :/.
