Would kannagi/hochomasamune be a good combo? or should i stick to kannagi/kamome and kannagi/sekka+2(evasion)
if you are looking for damage, nothing is really going to beat that kamome sub for now, sekka sub is great for solo, maybe if you desperately needed the fast cast you could sub the hocho, but not really worth it
Is Striking Flourish with Charis Casaque +2 worth using if I don't have Rudra's Storm? I'm mostly just Eviscerating in Loki's Kaftan right now.
Has anyone noticed any change in Jailer of Fortitude's pet behaviour recently? I went to solo it on RDM/NIN, popped it and chainspell gravitied both pets and ran it to a different room like I always do. Usually the pets deaggro but on this occasion they eventually got to the room where I was kiting Fortitude and had to get someone to come kill the pets for me
I don't think that is new. We have had that happen to us randomly in the past (like 2+ years ago). I think it's just unlucky or a glitch.
I distinctly remember there being a heated argument in LS about it because some people couldn't deaggro it and I insisted they could. They didn't believe me (I'd done it several times before) and I put it down to them 'doing it wrong' but not quite as nice as that (it was their first try and they refused to try again). Was eventually settled after they watched me deagg them. A few months later though I got my come-uppance because they wouldn't deaggro for shit off me one pop after trying for like 15 minutes.
TL;DR, pretty sure it's not new and just a glitch.
It's just something that can happen. They have to stay > a certain distance from the mob for a certain amount of time or they won't deagro. If they path weirdly and end up close to him (even if it's through a wall like third floor Qiqirn), then they won't deagro.
Best way to do it is to just pull it to the zone and keep zoning it. As long as you don't cast aggro it, his pets will eventually get too far away from him and won't reaggro when you pull.
That's a fine way to do it, but it takes a long time. The *best* way to do it in my experience is to Pop, Chainspell Gravity, zone, re-claim. As a general rule, as long as his pets aren't on radar (within 50') when you re-claim him, they won't link. It's possible the radius is much shorter than that (as small as 20'?).
If you aren't going to use Chainspell, just Gravity on pull and zone to lose one of the two pets. If it was a short pull, re-pull to the zone once to make sure Gravity wears off the first pet. Then let him walk a good ways back and Gravity the second pet, zone. Repeat until you can safely claim just Fort.
Actually the best way and maybe you even did it but havent notice is to separate them from JoF in w/e way (run with it a little or gravity them or w/e) and zone to lose aggro and then reaggro it as soon as adds will reach ??? point. It can be even 10-15` from them (just outside of the room with ??? ) and they wont link if they are already on ???.
Maybe wrong thread, but anywho...
Came back to game after a break `cause irl things, levelling ranger. Are bows still preferred over guns?
And looking through threads here, I see people saying they`re using Beyond/Ultimate atmas. I use that on BLM, what is the purpose of using them on RNG? I don`t/won`t have trueflight, but I thought it was an AGI modifier.
Lastly, a general, basic overview of how ranger is played these days? (aside from, well, not) Thanks :S
Kraken Club + Jishnu's Radiance and Believe in the Heart of the Cards.
A more serious answer is that with the addition of Dead Aim, Jishnu's has become a really powerful WS even if it hadn't been already, and Gandiva/Harrier +2 should be given serious consideration. Gandiva may or may not be practical depending on your resources but Harrier +2 will be worse unless you have NIN or DNC leveled for soloing Walk of Echoes, too. The MAB atmas are for Trueflight; Light elemental weaponskills get to double dip on Atma of the Beyond, so it's worth picking up (though everybody can get some mileage out of Beyond somewhere, imo).
Aaaaaand from here I'd defer to somebody else.
what's the tp bonus + % on atma of the smiting blow?
Are there any safe/legit links to download the NA PoL disk ?
Which version do you need? Just POL or the whole game? If you only need the W7 or Vista POL, the official site has it: http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/dow...l?pageID=media
If you need the rest, here is the thread where they post the download info. Not official, but most likely safe: http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/999...2-Disc-Backups
Yeah, it is. I updated the BG wiki with all the things I've found about Atma. It lacks some values that FFXIclopedia has, but only because I suspect they aren't thoroughly tested. For instance, all we know about Atma of the Apocalypse's TA is based off <200 rounds by Rog, iirc.

I've also noticed that Dead Aim doesn't seem to work for WS (although I haven't tested it thoroughly heh.) It's really kinda sad because outside of Abyssea Jishnu is maybe barely just above sidewinder, if it is even at all.
