I was going to post this in the youtube thread but it's kind of a sore thumb among the lot of HEY WATCH THIS COOL VIDEO LOL
Nice to see some people are still decent folk, and interesting that TX was better about it than NY.

Texas > NY
Cry about it.
WAY TO GO TEXAS.
lol @ you are a horrible waitress and you are a horrible person
Clearly, all the bashing Texans get is unmerited, because it is the Texas government that seems to be the one doing the stupid shit, but the Texan people are clearly better than everyone else in America. The video above is good evidence.
Texas is a huge state with several different population centers. Some more liberal than others. But what I took away from Texas when I lived there was a genuine attitude from the people. They were friendly, helpful, and the vast majority of the people I interacted with did not have any of these prejudices that are stirred around in the media. People that do have trouble accepting, for example, gay couples have that trouble because of a lack of understanding and a closed minded approach used as a defense mechanism. Get past that defense and the seed of tolerance can be planted.
Lesson learned here: Don't take political bullshit as the true feelings of the people.
not gonna lie, I teared up when they read that note
char showed this to me on irc and I'd say take what this video shows with a grain of salt.
There's a line in there where they're like "TEXAS IS ONE OF THE FEW STATES WHERE A BUSINESS CAN DENY GAYS SERVICE"
When I guess the law states that businesses can deny service for any reason.
So they twisted it to make it seem more anti-gay.
I've watched that show a few times and they definitely seem to try and do what they can to "rile" people up so ya.
Not to say it ain't awesome to see people defend the couple, 'cause that rocks. But the difference between ny and texas might have been skewed for shock value.
One thing that hurts NY is that fact that it's so big. NY residents are used to ignoring people.
Small town Texas residents, in a small personal diner, not so much.
Most of the Big Texas cities are pretty cool, well maybe not Dallas. Its the small towns that fuck things up for us.
They should do this in a Houston cafe to remove the "small town" variable. Then tone down the shock and awe a bit and actually quote the statute they claim gives the restaurant the right to discriminate.
Ill tell ya what, today is fucking Friday. If you think that is ground breaking or somehow new, turn it on ABC news tonight because they run a hidden camera show called "What would you do?" and have for a few years. Really? You guys have never once seen that? I've seen folks in Texas rag on Muslims buying baked goods because they walked in wearing a burqua and not a cowboy hat.
Edit: As a matter of fact, here ya go. Ill toss you a bone![]()

I knew it was only a matter of time til Miz showed up.
These waitresses don't notice the camera crew and shit? This is hella staged.
reinforces the "Only two things come from Texas, steers and queers"
